I felt my eyes, wincing as I realized they were open. "Careful!" a young Tyler yelped, gripping my wrists. I sniffed. "Why is e-everything dark?"
Silence.
"What do you mean?" Ty muttered.
"Everything is d-dark. I heard Mama telling Gran-Mama that it was bad," I felt something warm roll down my cheek. I wiped it away. More silence. Arms pulled me close, and I froze, then sobbed recognizing them as Ty's. "It's okay, Thay. It's okay. It's only because of shock."
Shock.
That he was gone.
Forever.
☽Taylor's POV☾
Thay was fine.
Alive.
Just like Tyler.
Right?
Yells sounded down a close hallway, and my head whipped to it. In a matter of seconds, Tyler turned around the corner, gripping his stomach with fresh blood on his wrist.
Tyler was alive.
But Thay wasn't there.
For now....
Tyler was alive.
My feet carried me right into him, slamming into him as we fell to the ground. I sobbed into his shoulder, his reassuring words whispered into my ear.
Thaylar.
"Thay," I whispered inbetween sobs. "Is she awake?"
Tyler held me closer. "I don't know."
After everyone else in the group talked to him, Mom and I helped him up, leading him back to his room with the doctors.
Later, we found out that Thaylar hadn't woken up yet.
