"I'm going to tell him I quit,"

Sunghoon mumbles more to himself than his younger sister who up until now had been nodding along to his anecdote.

"What?" She pauses as she reaches for another piece of grilled meat, "But it sounds like you had fun - it would be good for you, Sunghoon. Who cares about-"

"Did you forget why I quit in the first place, Yeji?" He snaps as his anxiety sits just an inch above his shoulder and instead of chewing his food he pulls his thumb up to his lip and begins nibbling on the nail.

She sighs before fidgeting with her hair. "I'm just glad you came home - I invited Mum and Dad to my place as well," her disappointed expression is uplifted by a sweet smile that softens her features.

"What - you have some big news or something?" Sunghoon runs his chopstick in a circle around the noodles and broth. His eyes shoot up at Yeji who chuckles, clearly nervous or embarrassed but most likely it was both.

Shrugging her shoulders, Yeji runs her fingers through her champagne-coloured hair which manages to bring out her glassy white skin - an exact replica of her older brother's. "Something like that," her gaze pulled away, but she could still feel Sunghoon's tense gaze on her and she knew the older boy wouldn't let go.

"Clearly it is something if you're bringing the whole family," Sunghoon's passive-aggressive tone always seems to get the best of Yeji even after growing up with the boy. She wondered how he was able to pull of the charismatic look onto lookers but to her, the guy was just annoying - sweet, but annoying.

Rolling her eyes, "Well what do you think it is, Detective Hoon?" She juts her chin out with an edge of hostility but the coy smirk on her glossy lips eased her retort - even if Sunghoon did annoy her she at least got to learn from the best.

Sunghoon chuckles along with his sister and now her nerves are replaced by a hint of excitement when she assumes he's catching onto her big news. His hand stutters when he leans over to pick up his boba, but he quickly bites the straw and takes a sip.

"You're getting married?" His eyes widen and Yeji gushes with an exuberant smile that radiates a gorgeous light - her eyes are practically sparkling and she's giddy beyond words. Sunghoon, practically choking on his drink, trying to laugh along with his sister, "I thought you'd be more excited." She teases.

Sunghoon shrugs off her 'false observation' with a cheesy smile and wide arms, attempting to hug her over the floor table. "I am - seriously," he gushes just as she did but the stiffness catches up to the forced crinkles in his eyes - maybe Yeji's great at following him but clearly it does not go both ways. "What do you want me to smash a champagne glass and scream 'My sisters getting married!'?"

He reenacts the scene and Yeji tugs his arms back onto his seat with a look of both endearment and disappointment, shaking her head as she attempts to maintain a sense of composure. "Thanks, but no thanks," she gently bashes her brother's head with a curled fist, "but somethings clearly on your mind,"

"I don't give a shit about Jake, alright," Sunghoon snaps before Yeji even has a chance to interject her concerns, "I just don't want to skate again."

"Well, you clearly don't like working for that corporal finance company," she points out with a tut. "Don't even say it's your responsibility or whatever because it makes a lot of money - Mum and Dad are doing way better now." She puts her hand up to shut Sunghoon up before he has a chance to plead.
