"Keep up at least!"

The auburn-haired boy fumbles on the ice and so he's forced to grip onto the edge of his friend's jacket. "I can't." He mummers almost annoyed though he can't help but laugh when his own weak grasp fails him and he's stumbling face-first into the wet hard floor.

"What a-Hey are you alright?" His friend quickly turns around when he hears the loud thud that the rink manages to take - actually, he thought to himself, he's never seen the ice crack in the years he's been here. He pokes his shoulder, but he doesn't respond. He shakes his seemingly limp body, but he doesn't respond. He tickles his side, but again, he doesn't respond.

"Jake, c'mon this isn't funny-"

"Boo!" Sunghoon swears he could feel his heart still in his chest and air tighten around his throat when his friend pounces up from the ice and tackles him, not giving him a second to reconcile over what had just happened, biting back the tears that well up in his eyes.

Pushing his best friend off his chest, Sunghoon is now the one staggering off the icy floor whilst Jake lays dormant, still laughing off as he usually did. "You're not funny, Jake." He teases before skating off to the other end of the rink with one swift turn.

"Really-" Though before he can tackle Sunghoon again, when he stops squinting his eyes and tries to pull himself up, he notices Sunghoon has left him, dancing and whirling around like the artist he was and though he must admit it was always mesmerising to just lay and watch his friend, he was freezing and unable to move on ice when he was standing let alone face-first on the ground.

Jake groans silently to himself, but Sunghoon is now the one having the last laugh and he skates idly towards him with that teasing smirk. Jake refuses to give him any satisfaction and forces his head down, nose barely grazing the cold surface and hair sprawled out against the watery ground.

Sunghoon holds out his hand and pokes the centre of his head causing the smaller boy to jolt up, "Here, you can't lay there forever." He rolls his eyes when Jake just stares absent-mindedly at his friendly gesture.

"What if I want to-"

"Fine," Sunghoon raises his hands in the air and pounces back up onto his skates, "suit yourself I'm gonna go get myself some food-"

At that, Jake staggers up, though he slips down onto the reflective surface and this time he hits harder. The loud thud his chin echoes around the room and causes a loud cry for help that Jake didn't appreciate but thankfully, Sunghoon skates over to him and pulls him using the sides of his arm.

"Thanks," His cheeks are coated an awkward pink as he rubs aimlessly at the end of his chin and thankfully it only left a slight redden spot due to the harsh temperature of the ice rink. "I'll pay for the food - I can get you something free from my dad's restaurant-"

"No, no that's okay," His voice becomes brittle and timid, shaking and waving his hands sporadically as if he were trying to push himself away, burying himself under his large gestures but Jake simply laughs and continues to insist much to his dismay.

"It's fine," Jake waves off and before Sunghoon can melt into the crystalised icy floor, he throws an arm over his shoulder and draws him in closer, waving his hand as if to shew away Sunghoon's storm of concerns, "my dad won't notice. He likes you anyways."
