Sunoo's eyes soften at the cute sight of the dark-haired skater resting peacefully on his shoulder, though he's unsure how to respond to this turn of events. Embarrassment and slight shame wash over him as he chuckles softly to himself, running his fingers through the boy's hair softly with a sweet expression.
He smiles whimsically, looking up at the blinding stars for a second before whispering softly, "Are you awake?"
Sunghoon rolls around on his shoulder, clinging to him a little tighter and Sunoo gasps, struggling to adjust himself when Sunghoon wraps his arms around his shoulder. He cradles him like a teddy bear of some sort, his face hidden in his shoulder as he sighs.
"Mm I'm tired..." is all he murmurs, most likely half awake, yawning softly as he nuzzles his face deeper into Sunoo's shoulder.
Sunoo can feel his face heat up an unnatural pink, burning up from the inside as he turns away, clearly beyond embarrassed. "Y-you wanna go home-" but before he can finish his question, Sunghoon shakes his head with a sigh.
"Five more minutes," he groans, unwilling to move away from Sunoo's grasp. He's warm and the sweater he dawns is soft, his scent weak enough for Sunghoon to sink into like some human pillow. "Just five more minutes..." he mutters weakly, now clearly sleeping.
"Uh...okay as long as it's just five minutes," Sunoo decides to play with Sunghoon's sleep-deprived plea, knowing there is no way to escape this situation. Though he too is tired, Sunoo can tell how drained Sunghoon is - this skater would rather die than act like a kid, all silent and cute, resting on his shoulder or maybe this was the real Sunghoon. A big softie who needs someone to hug whilst he falls asleep.
Sunoo hums softly as he continues to pet Sunghoon's hair, his fingers combining through the overgrown strands that lay messily on his head but as the older male doesn't complain he takes it as a free invitation to continue.
A few moments of steady silence pass by, only interrupted by the soft hum of cars and Sunoo's call back, muttering lyrics under his breath as he vibes to the beats that play in his head. He smiles at the sentiment, growing calm and warm at their situation and though it's definitely been more than five minutes by now Sunoo doesn't want to move either.
"Can you sing?" Sunghoon suddenly murmurs under his breath, his question nearly carried away by the wind, but Sunoo manages to catch it.
Taken aback, Sunoo chuckles weakly to himself, "Mm like a lullaby?" he raises his eyebrows teasingly and Sunghoon nods with a hum.
Sunoo sighs, feeling the heat rise to his cheeks and he nods reluctantly feeling a little worried about this sudden performance. "If you're sure," he mutters weakly, opening his mouth to sing. His throat feels a little sore, but the soft texture of Sunghoon's dark hair and the steady beats of his heart mesh with his soft breaths, relaxing his bubbling nerves.
The world is quiet, save for the faint rustling of leaves in the cool breeze. The streets are empty, the hum of the city a distant memory, swallowed by the stillness of the night. The streetlights cast pale yellow pools on the pavement, but there's no rush, no hurry, just the peaceful period that comes with midnight.
Sunoo sits on the edge of a weathered wooden bench, his legs swinging idly. Sunghoon, however, is leaning against him, his head nestled gently on Sunoo's shoulder. His breath is steady, slow-a peaceful contrast to the world around them. Sunoo's hand rests lightly on Sunghoon's shoulder, as though afraid to move too suddenly, not wanting to disturb the rare calm that's settled between them.
For a long while, Sunoo just watches the dark stretch of road ahead, the empty street yawning before them, but his mind is elsewhere. He feels the warmth of Sunghoon against him, the weight of his head on his shoulder, and the soft rise and fall of his chest. There's a quiet comfort in it, something that feels as if it's been waiting for both of them to find it.
