14. Departed

DANDY'S POV

Astro did that. He did... He can't know. It's too dangerous for me!
I thought about the things he said. That night... The shooting stars! Without Astro, i didn't know when there would be shooting stars again. Did the forget-me-not flowers actually work? Did they bind us forever?
And i really do miss some mint chocolate chip ice cream... Astro's favorite was always bubblegum. He says it reminds him of Poppy, who reminds him of all his friends here at Gardenview.
Whenever we went out to eat ice cream, we always got carried away and ended up coming back at 4 am. Astro filled my brain with astrology facts and psychological stuff.

And did i really look better with my yellow petals? Honestly, that paint was a pain to do perfectly. Also, it hurt my petals.

Wait, why am i thinking of Astro like that?

I shook my head and snapped back to reality. I caught a glimpse of Astro's signature colors: blue, white and black.
Oh, one of his drawings! He always throws his best works away... His excuse? They aren't good enough.
I think his art is thousands of times better than mine! Yet he always throws it away.
I carefully uncrumpled the drawing.

It was a bunch of drawings of us, together.
Eating ice cream together, going on hikes, making flower bracelets and... Oh.
I blushed lightly and i crumpled the drawing back up, hiding it in one of my hands.
Might as well keep this one. For... future admiration.

ASTRO'S POV

I woke up, tired from the whole twisting from last night. I noticed Vee next to me, who also dozed off and was still sleeping on the couch. Shelly was on my other side. She seemed to be trying hard to stay awake.

"What... What time is it?" I asked.

"I don't...know..." Said Shelly, tired.

I got up and walked off. I was in Vee's room. I thought of Dandy. For some reason, the thought of him was giving me a headache and stomachache.
It was hard to get him off my mind, but i managed.
A sight of the stars would probably soothe me. I do need some alone time after all...
I took one of the emergency exits, as the train didn't operate at night.

DANDY'S POV

I saw Astro sneaking through the halls. What is he doing so late at night?
I quietly followed. He got out through the emergency exit.
It's been a while since i left Gardenview. I followed Astro on the rough asphalt.
After a bit of walking, Astro took a right into a forest. Soon, the forest opened up into a meadow with a smooth hill.
I know this place! That's where we saw the shooting stars!
I silently walked towards him and sat down behind him. He didn't notice me.
He was just looking at the sky. It's what he loves most, i guess...
