4. Overlooked and Undone

"Ah, Astro? I kind of forgot you existed, ha."

I looked down upon hearing his words.

"I just... Wanted to ask if... Just maybe you actually wanted to talk this time?"

"Huh? I don't know. Maybe. Ask someone else."

He was consumed by Ichor. Driven crazy by the tapes. Maybe it was getting to his head...
Suddenly, Dandy got off his chair and seemed to be walking towards me.
My heart unexplainably started racing in my chest, and i felt a rising excitement.
It all turned to sadness when Dandy passed by me and went to a different side of the room.

What was that feeling though? I feel the urge to just... Give him a hug. Dandy seems like he'd need one right now, yet he never lets me or anybody in physical contact.
I just wanted him to care... Like he did before. He was so kind and always wanted to spend time with me. Now...? He's mean, arrogant, self-entitled, indifferent...

"Dandy?" I ask again with a glimmer of hope.

"What"

"Can you... Come here?" I try to tell him.

"No, not really. I don't want to."

"Pretty please?"

I heard a sigh and his footsteps approached. I felt excitement rise in me again. Once he was in front of me, we made eye contact and i instantly began smiling uncontrollably.
I lunged forward to hug him, but he dodged it fast as a bullet.

"What the hell? Seriously, Astro?"

I felt guilty and sad after Dandy walked away.

"Leave, Astro. I'd punish you worse, but I don't have time for that."

I quickly exited the room and ran to my own large room. After running into my bed, i felt tears stream down my cheeks.

"I just... I just ruined my friendship with him?! Did i really think that would work?!"

I violently leaned against the wall.
What? All this crying... For him? And the way i felt when he walked to me. The burning sensation when we made eye contact...
It couldn't be.

Dandy's such a terrifying, bad person! How could i?!
I stormed right back out of my room and saw Pebble running around. I tripped against him and got a real good hit right on the face.

"Owch... Pebble..."

I rubbed my face and looked at Pebble, who had a sad face and began licking my arm.

"Thanks, I'm fine..." I pat Pebble on the head.

The only way to meet Dandy now would be going on a run in the elevator...
