20. Wonder

DANDY'S POV

When we arrived on the hill, i was so tired i could barely stand. I picked up the bundle of things i had prepared for Astro.

"Oh, perfect. A suspicious large bag." He muttered.

I pulled out the astrology book first, handing it to him.

"A huge astrology book. Hope you haven't read this one yet.

He didn't look impressed, he just held the book with a blank expression.

"And... Uhm... A lot of blankets! I didn't exactly know which you like so i got... Many types..."

I placed the blankets on the ground next to him. He didn't even look at them.

"Uh.... Cinnamon roll!" I placed the box with the cinnamon roll next to him.

There was no emotion on his face.

"I... I know no amount of gifts can make you forgive me... But i hope you're at least better now." I said with honesty.

"The special edition astrology book which i couldn't find anywhere..."

"Huh?"

"A VARIETY of blankets... I only ever had one type at Gardenview and i was getting bored of it..."

"Ah... "

"Finally, you share your cinnamon rolls?"

"Eh...? Sorry.... Hah."

"And an... at least attempted apology?"

ASTRO'S POV

I couldn't believe my eyes. All my dreams accomplished in a matter of minutes...
Well, most of them. I still want to see a meteor shower as soon as possible.

I was on the verge of tears. Am i dreaming? Could this get even better? I sat on the ground and hugged the bundle of blankets. So soft! If one more gift was there, I'd probably break down.

"And... Look up! It's starting!" Said Dandy.

I was confused, but looked anyway. Many shooting stars took over the clear night sky.
I couldn't take my eye off them.

I began tearing up from happiness. What were the odds?! Dandy must've plotted all of this...

I got up and leaped onto Dandy in a tight hug. But he pushed me away...

"Ow... Yikes..." He whined.

I almost forgot he was wounded nearly everywhere.

"Ah, Dandy! How about your petal?"

"Uh... It'll grow back... I hope...RIGHT! I have just one more surprise for you."

One more?! I took my cinnamon roll which i was eating and ran after Dandy. He was obviously so tired but he still tried to keep his enthusiasm for me.

He sat down next to a familiar spot. He pointed at the ground.

"The forget-me-not flowers! They're still here, but this time there's so many more!"

I looked at the bluish flowers as the happy memories flashed before my eyes.

"DANDY! T-thank you so much... I have no idea how one of the worst days of my life became the best..."

"R-really?! I'm so glad..."

"Let's forget about the entire... Incident. We are both okay now. Let's enjoy this night."

"Mmm.... Yeah." Said Dandy sleepily.

As we watched the sky, i noticed that Dandy fell asleep. I sent him a good dream and shyly approached him. I covered us in the many blankets, and we both slept under the moonlight.
