The next morning, Arika sat on her bed with her phone gripped tightly in her hand, her fingers trembling slightly as her eyes remained fixed on the screen. The message from Shivansh, sent the previous night, had been sitting there for over twenty minutes, and yet she couldn't bring herself to look away.

How about dinner tonight?

The simple invitation felt anything but simple. Why had he suddenly invited her to dinner? There was no special occasion that she could think of. No birthdays, no celebration, nothing that justified such a gesture. The more she thought about it, the more questions arose.

'Could it be that he wanted to celebrate the deal they had secured in Ooty?'

But even as the thought crossed her mind, she dismissed it just as quickly. Why would he want to celebrate that now, after all these days?

Her mind wandered, searching for answers that seemed just out of reach. Maybe... she hesitated, the thought lingering on the edge of her consciousness.

'Maybe it's something more than just a professional dinner. Maybe he wants to talk to me, to tell me something important.'

Arika shook her head vigorously, trying to dispel the thought. "No, no. It can't be that, it should not be that," she muttered to herself. "I shouldn't let my mind run wild. It's just dinner... a simple dinner."

But then, another thought struck her like a bolt of lightning-what if he wanted to talk about the kiss they shared in Ooty? Her mind raced, but she dismissed it quickly.

'Why would he want to talk about that kiss now, days after it happened?' she thought. 'Besides, both of us had been acting completely normal, just like before. Why would he bring it up now?'

As she wrestled with her thoughts, her mind unconsciously drifted back to that moment in Ooty.

The kiss they had shared was a memory that refused to fade, no matter how hard she tried to bury it. She still remembered every detail. The way his big, soft lips had pressed against hers, it was as if he had been drawing the very life out of her, but in the most tender and electrifying way.

And yet, beneath the initial comfort, there was an undeniable sense of wrongness. Even in the moment, as she kissed him back, her mind had screamed that she should stop. It was a mistake-she knew it deep down. She was crossing a line, letting emotions and desires drive her into a situation that could have consequences they would both regret.

'What if this kiss led to something neither of them was prepared to face?'

'What if it complicated things between them irreparably?'
