The night was drenched in rain, a relentless downpour that seemed to echo the turmoil inside Arika.

She hurried out of the restaurant, her breath coming in quick, shallow gasps. The cold, wet air did nothing to cool the firestorm of emotions raging within her. She kept glancing back over her shoulder, a cold dread creeping up her spine, fearing that Shivansh might be following her.

The events of the day had stirred something dark and familiar inside her, memories from years ago that she had desperately tried to bury. Paranoia clawed at her mind, making her breath hitch with every step.

She didn't stop to hail a cab or an auto, didn't even think about where she was headed. She moved through the nearly deserted streets of Bangalore, rain-soaked and frantic.

The city, usually alive with the hum of traffic and chatter, was eerily silent, the heavy rain driving people indoors.

But not her.

She walked faster and faster, her feet aching, the cold seeping into her bones, but she was numb to it all as the fear of Shivansh appearing out of nowhere, of him catching up to her and hurting her, kept her moving.

All she could think of was getting away-away from Shivansh, away from the day's events, away from everything.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, an auto rickshaw pulled up beside her. The driver, noticing her drenched and disheveled state, slowed down.

"Madam, aapko kahi chor du?" he asked, concern lacing his voice. (Do you need a ride somewhere?)

Arika simply nodded, unable to form words, and climbed into the auto and muttered her apartment address. The entire ride, she sat in silence, her insides trembling violently. Her mind kept replaying the words she had hurled at Shivansh, the possible consequences of her actions spiraling through her thoughts, making her heart pound in fear.

When the auto finally stopped in front of her apartment, she paid the driver hastily and walked away without waiting for change, ignoring his calls after her. Her legs felt heavy as she made her way to the front door.

The door opened before she could even reach for her keys. Dhruvika stood there, her face pale with worry, Anisha standing just behind her. The sight of Arika-soaked to the bone, her hair a tangled mess, kajal smeared around her eyes and her entire body shivering uncontrollably-made their eyes widen in shock.

"Aru, what happened to you?" Dhruvika asked, her voice thick with worry.

"Arika, are you okay? Did something happen?" Anisha added, stepping closer, her eyes scanning Arika's face for answers.

Their voices was barely registered by Arika as she was still lost in the whirlwind of emotions, the chaotic events of the night blurring together in her mind. Everything had happened too quickly for her to process.
