Dhruvika and Anisha left for Bangalore two days ago, and my conversation with them that morning replayed in my mind like a relentless loop. They had given me a piece of their minds, their words filled with truths that cut deep. It was as if they had peeled back the layers of my ignorance, revealing the stark reality of my situation. I realised how wrong I had been about Shivansh, how profoundly I had messed things up due to my own fears and hasty decisions. Regret consumed me as I thought about the hurtful words and accusatory remarks I had thrown at him that night. I hadn’t heard him; I hadn’t stopped when he was begging me to listen.

Now, the weight of my actions crashed over me like a tidal wave, and my heart ached at the thought of everything Shivansh must have faced since that night. It was all my fault; my reckless decisions had wrecked both our lives.

Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes, but this time, I wiped them away before they could fall. No more crying. No more mourning over what had happened. I took a deep breath, grounding myself in the moment. It was time to be courageous. I needed to take the first step toward winning back Shivansh and his trust. I had spent too long wallowing in self-pity, but that ended now. I was determined to do everything within my power to bring him back to me.

An idea suddenly struck me—a way to reclaim my life.

‘What if I transfer to Bangalore? My company had a branch there, and this could be my chance to be closer to him.’

Excitement surged through me as I picked up my phone, eager to share my plan with Dhruvika and Anisha.

As they picked up I shared my plan to transfer to Bangalore and mentioned that I intended to gather all the information regarding the process from my office today only. As I received enthusiastic support from them, it lit a fire within me, fueling my determination.

I sprang into action, quickly freshening up as my heart raced with anticipation. The excitement coursing through me was so overwhelming that I skipped breakfast entirely; the prospect of finally taking control of my life rejuvenated me.

As I stepped out of my apartment, a renewed sense of purpose washed over me. I hailed a cab, eager to make my way to the office. The hour-long ride through Mumbai’s heavy traffic did little to dampen my spirits. The wait only fueled my determination.

After paying the cab driver, I stepped into the office with a new bounce in my steps. Without heading to my cabin, I made my way straight to HR’s cabin. Knocking lightly, I waited until I heard Ragini Sharma, my HR's voice invited me in.

“Good morning, ma’am,” I greeted her as I entered.

“Good morning, Arika. Please, sit,” she responded warmly, motioning to the chair across from her desk. I took my seat. She tilted her head curiously. “What brings you here today?”
