As they walked back to the castle, Mattheo couldn't help but admire Y/N. He noticed how her laughter filled the air and how her eyes sparkled with joy. Unbeknownst to him, Theodore and Mellony caught on to Mattheo's admiration.
Theodore nudged Mellony gently, a playful grin on his face as he nodded towards Mattheo and Y/N. "Looks like someone's smitten," he whispered teasingly.
Mellony stifled a giggle, exchanging a knowing glance with Theodore. "I think you might be right," she replied in a hushed tone.
Meanwhile, Mattheo remained lost in his thoughts, oblivious to the silent exchange between his friends. He was too captivated by Y/N's energy and laughter to notice anything else.
As they reached the castle, Mattheo barely registered their arrival, his mind still lingering on Y/N. Little did he know, his friends had already picked up on his feelings
As they returned to their dormitories, Mellony and Theodore exchanged a glance filled with silent agreement. Without a word, they made their way to Mattheo's room, their footsteps echoing softly in the quiet hallway.
With a gentle knock, Mellony and Theodore announced their presence before entering Mattheo's room. They found him sitting at his desk, lost in thought, his expression distant.
"Mattheo, we need to talk," Mellony began, her voice firm but gentle.
Theodore nodded in agreement, his gaze steady as he spoke. "We noticed something today," he continued, his tone serious.
Mattheo looked up, surprise flickering across his features as he registered their presence. "What is it?" he asked, his voice tinged with curiosity.
Mellony took a deep breath, her words measured as she addressed her friend. "We noticed the way you were looking at Y/N," she explained, her tone gentle but direct.
Theodore nodded in agreement, his expression sympathetic. "It's okay, Mattheo," he reassured him. "But we're worried about you."
Mattheo's brows furrowed in defiance, his jaw set with determination. "There's nothing to worry about," he insisted, his voice edged with frustration. "I can handle myself."
Mellony and Theodore exchanged a concerned glance but persisted in their concern for their friend. "We just want to make sure you're okay, Mattheo," Mellony said softly, her tone imploring.
But Mattheo remained adamant, refusing to entertain their concerns. "I appreciate your concern, but I'm fine," he replied tersely, his tone final.
With a heavy sigh, Mellony and Theodore realized they wouldn't be able to convince Mattheo otherwise. With a nod, they bid him goodnight and left his room, hoping that he would eventually open up to them when he was ready.
After Mellony and Theodore left his room, Mattheo sat in silence, the weight of their conversation lingering in the air. As he reflected on their words, a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips, acknowledging the truth in their concern.
Mattheo couldn't deny the feeling in the back of his mind that they were right. He knew deep down that he needed to confront his feelings, especially those he harboured for Y/N.
With a sense of clarity washing over him, Mattheo resolved to heed his friends' advice and confront his emotions head-on. Though the journey ahead would undoubtedly be challenging, he found solace in knowing that Mellony and Theodore were there to support him every step of the way.
Back in the common room, Mattheo and the others spotted Y/N hanging out with Enzo, their laughter filling the cosy space.
Mellony nudged Mattheo, a knowing smile on her lips as she gestured towards Y/N and Enzo. "Looks like someone's making new friends," she whispered teasingly.
Mattheo's gaze flickered towards Y/N and Enzo, a pang of jealousy stirring in his chest. He quickly masked his emotions with a nonchalant shrug. "Good for her," he replied, his tone casual.
Draco, who had been observing the interaction from afar, narrowed his eyes slightly, his expression unreadable. But before anyone could say more, Pansy intervened, her voice bright with enthusiasm as she suggested a game of Wizard's Chess to distract them from their thoughts.
As they settled in for the game, Mattheo couldn't shake the feeling of unease that lingered in the back of his mind. Little did he know, his friends were watching him closely, their concern for him growing with each passing moment.
