As the fight between the three and Enzo intensified, the sound of fists colliding and grunts of exertion filled the air. With each blow, the tension between them reached a fever pitch, fuelled by anger and betrayal.
When the dust finally settled, they emerged from the fray, their bodies battered and bruised, but their resolve unbroken. Their faces were streaked with blood, evidence of the fierce battle they had waged in defence of Y/N's honour.
As they entered the room, a hushed silence fell over the onlookers, their expressions a mix of shock and concern at the sight before them. Mattheo and Theo stood tall, their chests heaving with exertion, their eyes blazing with determination.
Despite the toll the fight had taken on them, their eyes had a sense of satisfaction, knowing that they had stood up for what was right, even in the face of adversity. As they met Y/N's gaze, there was a silent understanding between them, a bond forged in the crucible of battle and strengthened by the unbreakable ties of friendship.
Seeing the three covered in blood, Y/N's heart clenched with worry. Ignoring her fear, she rushed towards them, her concern overriding any hesitation.
Without a second thought, she threw her arms around them, pulling them into a tight embrace. "Are you okay?" she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion.
Mattheo and Theo returned the embrace, their relief evident as they held Y/N close. "We're fine," Mattheo assured her, his voice gentle despite the pain.
Theo nodded in agreement, his grip tightening around Y/N as if to reassure her of their safety. "We had to do this for you," he added, his voice filled with conviction.
"we'd do anything for you." Added Mellony.
Gratitude flooded through Y/N's veins as she held onto the three of them, their presence a comforting reassurance amidst the chaos that surrounded them. She felt a profound sense of appreciation for their unwavering loyalty and unwavering courage in standing up for her.
"Thank you," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "I don't know what I would have done without you."
Mattheo and Theo exchanged a knowing glance, their expressions softening with understanding. "We'll always have your back," Mattheo replied, his voice filled with sincerity.
Theo nodded in agreement, a small smile playing on his lips. "We're in this together," he added, his gaze steady and reassuring.
As they reached the Slytherin dormitory, Pansy stepped forward, her gaze soft yet filled with gratitude. "Theo, Mattheo, Mells," she began, her voice carrying a depth of emotion. "I just wanted to thank you for what you did back there. You risked yourselves to defend Y/N, and we're all grateful for it."
Theo and Mattheo exchanged a glance, their expressions reflecting a mix of humility and determination. "We couldn't stand by and do nothing," Theo replied, his voice steady. "Y/N is like family to us."
Mattheo nodded in agreement, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "We'll always have each other's backs," he added, his tone resolute.
"We won't let anything happen to her," Mellony spoke up. "ever"
Pansy's eyes shimmered with appreciation as she reached out to clasp their hands in hers. "Thank you," she repeated, her voice filled with sincerity. "You're true friends, and we're lucky to have you."
With a final nod of acknowledgement, Pansy and Mellony turned and made their way to their own dormitory, leaving Theo and Mattheo standing in the quiet hallway
As the commotion from the altercation began to settle, Draco Malfoy, Y/N's twin brother, sought her out. His presence was both unexpected and fraught with tension, given their complicated relationship and his previous warnings about trusting others.
Y/N's heart skipped a beat as she saw Draco approach, his expression a mask of anger as he stopped in front of her. She braced herself for his usual aloof demeanour, unsure of what to expect.
"Y/N," Draco began, his voice tinged with barely concealed fury. "What in Merlin's name happened out there? Are you trying to ruin our family's reputation?"
Surprised by his sudden outburst, Y/N recoiled slightly, her stomach churning with unease. "I-I didn't mean to cause trouble," she stammered, her voice shaky under his intense scrutiny.
Draco's silver eyes bore into hers, his frustration palpable as he continued to criticize her. "You need to be more careful, Y/N," he admonished, his tone laced with disappointment. "You can't afford to be reckless, especially now."
Y/N felt a wave of guilt wash over her, knowing that her actions had only fuelled her brother's anger. She struggled to find the right words to defend herself, but Draco's disapproval weighed heavily upon her.
"Draco, I..." she started, her voice faltering as she searched for an explanation.
But Draco cut her off with a sharp shake of his head, his anger simmering just beneath the surface. "Enough," he snapped, his tone final. "Just remember who you are and what's at stake."
With that, Draco turned on his heel and stormed away, leaving Y/N standing alone with her thoughts. As she watched him go, she couldn't shake the feeling of disappointment that hung in the air, knowing that she had once again fallen short of her brother's expectations.
