The five Slytherins approached the entrance to the Gryffindor common room, their steps hesitant as they faced the unfamiliar territory. Mellony frowned as she glanced at the portrait guarding the entrance, realizing they didn't know the password.

"We can't just stand here all day," Blaise muttered, frustration evident in his voice.

Theo nodded in agreement, casting a wary glance around the corridor. "We need to figure out the password quickly."

Y/N chewed on her bottom lip, her mind racing as she tried to recall any information that might help them. "Does anyone remember overhearing the Gryffindors mention the password?"

Mellony shook her head, her arms crossed tightly over her chest. "No, and even if we did, it's not like they'd willingly share it with us."

Draco sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "We'll have to find another way in."

Mellony's eyes narrowed in determination as she surveyed their surroundings. "There has to be a clue somewhere. Let's split up and search the area."

With a nod of agreement, the group dispersed, each member combing through the corridor in search of any hints or clues. Minutes stretched into what felt like hours as they scoured every nook and cranny, but their efforts yielded no results. Even Mattheo was eager to get inside the common room. Kind of. He just wanted to escape everything because they were all right, Pansy had died because of him, and so had Draco and Y/n's mother. No one was speaking to him nor were they even looking at him although some friendly glances were received by him from Y/n. She hid it from the others. He was glad. He was glad that even though she wasn't showing it, Mattheo had someone. He knew she was and would be there for him, though he wasn't sure if she had actually forgiven him or if he was just imagining all of this. I mean how could she ever forgive him?
Was his mind just playing tricks making him think she or anyone else ever give him a second chance?

Frustration and anxiety gnawed at their nerves as they gathered near the portrait, their expressions angry.

"We've checked everywhere," Theo sighed, his shoulders slumping with defeat.

Y/N glanced around, her eyes landing on the portrait with a mix of uncertainty and determination. "We can't give up yet. There has to be a way."

They racked their brains for a solution before they were met with the unexpected sight of Seamus Finnigan, a Gryffindor student who had been lurking nearby.

Seamus scowled as he caught sight of the Slytherins, his expression hostile. "What are you lot doing here?" he demanded, his tone accusatory.

"Ahh thank Merlin! A Gryffindor at last!" Draco exclaimed with a huge sigh of relief.

"Hold on Draco. It's not like he's gonna help us anyways" Y/n said rolling her eyes.

"We can try," Mellony said, her eyes hopeful. "Fine," Y/n replied.

"We need to enter your common room, Professor Snape has sent us to stay there". Mellony said, "So we were hoping that you'd help us get inside because we don't know the passcode."

"Ahhh so the Slytherins have come begging us Gryffindors for our help," Seamus smirked. "Knew this day would come".

Theo came up to him and said "In your dreams dude, look we don't want to start a fight here, just let us enter your common room. It's not like we want to but we have to."

"Beg for it. Go on beg me to help you. Merlin, I always knew you Slytherin Low-lives would come to us." Seamus spoke a second before he burst out laughing.

"That's enough, Finnigan. We're not here to start a fight, but don't think for a second that we'll tolerate any of your insults" Mattheo finally said, stepping in front of the others. Frustration and anger evident in his voice.

"oooh, the dark lord's son has spoken. What are you going to do about it riddle? You going to call your dad eh?" Mattheo clenched his fists as Seamus spoke. "Bet that's all you can do," Seamus said knowing that he was getting on Mattheo's nerves.

Mattheo stepped forward and in a moment of heated emotion, Mattheo's frustration boiled over, and without thinking, his fist shot out in a swift motion. The punch landed on Seamus's jaw. Everyone was shocked. Well almost everyone. Draco rolled his eyes and Theo looked away because he had seen this several times. Seamus cussed and ran into the dorm, all of them tried to listen to what he said but alas he told the password to the portrait in a really low voice. Probably wasn't able to speak after that punch.
Theo slapped his hands on his legs shook his head and said "Great Job Mattheo, just keep hitting and ruining people's lives. Now how the hell are we supposed to go inside now?"

"maybe we should just get Professor Snape," Mellony suggested.

"No! He despises us as it is and clearly doesn't think we're capable of anything and I don't want to prove him right" Y/n objected.

"Then what are we supposed to do?" Draco shouted.

As the Slytherins regrouped, their heads filled with uncertainty, they were suddenly approached by Percy Weasley, a prefect known for his strict adherence to rules and order.

Percy's gaze swept over the group, his expression a mix of suspicion and curiosity. "What are you all doing here? Slytherins aren't typically found loitering in Gryffindor territory."

Mellony stepped forward, her voice steady despite the uncertainty. "We, um, we're supposed to be staying here temporarily. We weren't given the password."

"Ah, yes. Professor Snape informed me of your situation and requested that I assist you in settling in." Percy glanced back at them whilst leading them into the dorms.

Mellony's eyebrows lifted in surprise, a glimmer of relief shining in her eyes. "Professor Snape did? That's... unexpected."

Percy nodded, his tone serious but not unkind. "Indeed. It seems he believes it's in everyone's best interest to resolve this matter quickly and quietly."

"The passcode for this week is 'Phoenix Feathers'. Good night Slytherins. I hope the Gryffindors treat you with respect although that is not expected." Saying that the prefect left.

Relief flooded through the group as they thanked the Gryffindor, but the atmosphere remained tense as they entered the common room. The Gryffindors eyed them with suspicion and disdain, making it clear that their presence was not welcome
