Clove had always liked Cato, and it seemed like everybody knew it except him.
Cato had always liked Clove, and it seemed like everybody knew it except her.
Thankfully, though, everyone had set up a plan. Glimmer, Annie, Johanna, Katniss, and Finch were going to get Clove to admit  her crush on Cato to them, and Marvel, Finnick, Thresh, and Gale were going to somehow get Cato to witness it.

Everyone remembers how Clove and Cato got together. The date was October 17th. The sun was out, and there was a nice breeze. The trees were losing their brown, orange, and green leaves. Clove, Glimmer, Annie, Johanna, Katniss, and Finch were sitting at a picnic table in the park. They had brought food to eat and were having girl talk.
"Alright, I think we should play truth or dare." Johanna suggests, sending a signal to everyone but Clove.
"Yeah! That sounds fun!" Glimmer adds. Everyone else agrees and that leaves Clove.
"Ummm..." she mumbles.
"Oh, c'mon! It'll be fun!!" Glimmer presses.
"Fine! Whatever." Clove rolls her eyes.
"Yay!!" Glimmer claps her hands and starts.
The girls play a few rounds and then the time comes where they ask Clove. While looking at the library the boys are supposed to be at, Glimmer had sent a message to Marvel, telling him to bring Cato down for a walk in the park or something, and Annie texted Finnick the same. Marvel responds back, then Finnick.

Bringing him down now. Ask her!

He's on his way down. Get this shit going!

"So, Clove..." Johanna starts. "Truth or Dare?" Clove thinks for a moment, then has a glint of mischief in her eyes when she says,
"Truth."
"Great!" Johanna responds, trying to hide her smirk. "So... tell us who your secret crush is! And tell us exactly why you like them."
"Umm..." Clove hesitates.
"Oh, come on!! It's just us!!"
"I, um... I... I like... I like Cato. He's smart, he's funny, he's cute. He's cocky, but kind." This isn't like Clove, to go on and on about the boy she likes. But she can't help herself. "He's charismatic and confident, but he's not rude. He's stubborn and determined. I've known him since I was little and he's kind to my siblings. He always tells the most stupid jokes that are somehow funny. He loves football and he likes to hunt. He always has nicknames for me like 'Clover' or 'Clovey' and even though I act like I hate them, deep down I love them. He watches my stupid movies with me and listens while I talk about my books. He secretly loves baking shows, he always eats the cookie dough or brownie batter. His favorite color is blue, just like his eyes, because it reminds him of the ocean. His hair is this golden color that looks almost magical. He always licks his finger before turning the page in a book he's reading, which is something he does more often than he likes to admit, he hates his coffee black, so he always adds enormous amounts of caramel and sugar. He's careful with his siblings and treats his parents well. He's a good singer and a surprisingly amazing dancer, and I found that out when I danced with him at the annual Winter ball. That was when I knew I had fallen. It's just... Something about him is just so... magnetic."

As clove finds her way back to earth, she notices the silence and everyone around her staring in awe. Then, she sees Katniss and Finch try to discreetly look behind her, obviously failing. It was a good attempt, though. Then, everyone else starts to look behind her.

"Wha- what are you all looking at?" She asks, concerned.
"See for yourself." Katniss responds. Clove slowly turns around, making eye contact with the boy she had just spent a good 5
Minutes mooning over. Her eyes lock with his and her heart stops.

"I... did he?... did they?...umm...." She tries to form a sentence, but her increasing heart rate and rosy pink cheeks are proof that she is embarrassed. She tries to process what is going on and stands up.

"Wait, did you guys do this on purpose? To embarrass me in front of everyone?! Why would you do that?! That's just- I can't"before she can finish, she passes out.

~~~~~~~
When clove wakes, she finds herself in Cato Hadley's room. She's seen it before. She always liked the movie posters hanging on his walls, but she didn't notice until now that almost all of them were the stupid ones that she made him watch. As she becomes back in touch with reality, Clove sees Cato sitting next to her, his hand in hers.
"C-Cato...!? I... what hap-"
"Hey, Clovey. What happened was you basically confessed your love for me in the park in front of me, I'm pretty sure unknowingly, and once you realized that I was there, you got all pink, like a cute little bunny, and started yelling at the girls for embarrassing you. Then, you fainted, but I caught you before you hit the ground. Then, I carried you in here, everyone scampering behind me. I put you on my bed and I've been sitting here, waiting for you to wake up." Suddenly it all comes rushing back to Clove. She remembers everything. Her explaining in full detail why she is in love with Cato, seeing him, yelling, and blacking out.
"Oh. I, um..." she can't find anything to say. "You carried me all the way here? From the park?"
"Yeah." He shrugs it off like it's nothing.
"The whole 3 miles?!"
"I mean, I was worried about you."
"That was really sweet." A smile forms on Cloves face and this time, she doesn't even try to hide it.
"Eh. I just needed to make sure you were okay. But you seem good now."
"Yeah, I'm good now."
"So did you eat breakfast? I know that sometimes not eating can-"
"Yeah, I ate breakfast. I just got really embarrassed. Gosh, this is even more embarrassing."
"I don't think so."
"You don't?"
"Nope."
"Seriously?"
"Yeah. I mean..." he hesitates.
"You mean what?"
"I mean... I like you, too."
"What?! You do?"
"Mhm."
"But, I mean, what's there to like?!"
"What's there to not like? You're kind, you're beautiful, you're funny, you're witty, you always make your 'C's fancy when you sign your name, you're secretly scared of horror movies, you always like the weirdest foods that end up being delicious, you like to read, you like to write, you like to walk around and look at the trees, identifying leaves you find. Your favorite color is green because it's the color of grass, trees, and leaves, so it reminds you of nature. You always blink a lot when you're nervous, you fall asleep fast, you like the stupidest movies but I can never say no to you, you always drink your coffee black, you use exact measurements when you're baking, you make brownies every Sunday to bring to people in the town, you always scold me for eating the raw cookie dough or brownie batter but never try to stop it. Your standards are high, but you're still somewhat easy to impress. You're calm and collected but freak out when things aren't organized. You jump into my arms when you get scared and I like it. You're great at volleyball and I love watching you play. You always tap your legs and clap twice before you serve in a game. You're pretty and resourceful and are so competitive that it's adorable. Yeah, I'd say that you're pretty likable. Or for me... lovable." His eyes lock with hers and they just stare at each other. They flitter their eyes around, looking at every part of each other's faces, before they lean in and kiss each other. The kiss is magical. Magnetic, almost. Like they keep pulling each other in and can never let go. The kiss seems to last forever, and it would, if not interrupted by Johanna and Finch standing in the doorframe, Johanna yelling,
"I fucking told you! They're perfect for each other! I knew it had to happen one day! We finally got our shit together and made it happen!" Both Cato and Clove pause and face Johanna, giving her a look
That says both 'aww' And 'get out!'
"Sorry about that, guys! She gets really excited. We'll be on our way now." Finch apologizes and pushes Johanna away, trying to not ruin the moment any more. The kids don't care, though, because they just share a chuckle and press their lips against each others once again.
"Well, there they are! The two love birds!" Glimmer exclaims as Clove and Cato make their way down the stairs, holding each other's hands, blushing and giggling, the look of love in their eyes.
"So.....?!!!" Finnick asks.
"What do you think?! They're holding hands!!" Annie punches his arm.
"Ow! Okay, okay, sorry!" He rubs his arm.
"Yeah! They were just making ou-" Johanna starts, but can't finish because Finch puts her hand over her mouth and Katniss slaps her.
"My bad." She mumbles under Finch's hand and puts her arms up in defense.
"So... do you want us to leave, or..?" Thresh asks. Clove taps on Cato's shoulder and he leans down so she can whisper something in his ear. He smiles at her, discusses it further, and shouts out,
"Let's watch some movies!" Everyone cheers, even Thresh, who seems burnt out from the days events. He has always been an introvert, but he has also been one of the biggest Clato fans of them all.
They put on a spooky but not scary movie, and Clove is snuggled up next to Cato. At one point, something startles her and she nestles into him more.
"It's okay, Clover. I got you." He whispers. Then he kisses her head and strokes her hair.
