Tonight is date night. Clove Hadley (Kentwell) and Cato Hadley have been together for 20 years now. They got together when Clove was 15 and Cato was 16 and got married at 30 and 31. It's been 5 years since they got married, and today is their wedding anniversary. They decided to have a picnic in the park, which is the place they went on their first date, and it was also the same place where Clove unknowingly confessed her love for Cato in front of him.

"We'll be back home soon, okay?" Clove assures her son, Ben, who is 4 years old. He has his father's eyes and hair, but his mother's face and personality. You could definitely tell that he is a child of the Hadley's.

"Okay, mama! Bye dada!" He hugs his mom, and his dad picks him up, spins him around, and plants a kiss on his forehead.

"Mwah! I love you! We'll see you later, Ben!" Cato waves goodbye.
"Bye hun, have fun with aunt Glimmer! I love you! Oh, and Glimmer, be sure to-" Clove has a hard time leaving her kid.
"I got it, Clo! It's all going to be fine!"
"Okay, just-"
"Hey, Clovey, he's fine. Just relax and enjoy your time with me. We don't get to have a lot of it." Cato grabs Clove by the waist, smirks at her, and gives her a kiss on the lips.
"Okay, okay. I get it. I can be a little... well..."
"High strung?"
"Yeah. I just want him to be safe."
"And he is. Now let's go get our picnic on!" He starts to do a weird dance.
"You're an idiot." She whispers under her breath.
"What was that?"
"I said you're an idiot." Her voice is quieter now.
"Sorry, I didn't quite hear that." He smirks.
"I said you're a..."
"Speak up!"
"I said you're an idiot!" She yells, giggling.
"Oh, really? You're gonna pay for that!" He starts chasing her around the yard until she makes it to the car.
"So... let's agree that you never call me an idiot again, alright?" Cato proposes, his voice somewhat threatening, but mainly flirty.
"And... what if I do? What if I call you an idiot again?" Clove locks her eyes with Cato's and grins.
"Then there will be serious consequences..." he gazes back into her eyes and starts to tickle her.
"Hey, that tickles! Stop!"
"What if I don't?"
"Seriously, that tickles! C'mon, save it for the park!"
"Fine. But I get to tickle you twice as much at the park." He boops her nose.
"Whatever."
"Deals a deal. No backsies." He opens the car door for Clove and when she gets in, she whispers, "no backsies." Hearing Cato say that makes her shake her head and laugh.

When they make their way to the park, they unload the car and set up their picnic.

"Look, I got strawberries. Your favorite." Cato shows Clove.
"Wow, you did! You know, they're the best with-"
"Chocolate. Yeah, I know you love chocolate-covered strawberries, so I also brought chocolate."
"You are... incredible." Clove wraps her arms around Cato's waist.
"I know." He smirks and his lips meet hers.

"Here, catch this with your mouth!" Clove suggests, throwing a grape at Cato. He opens his mouth and moves it towards the plummeting grape, catching it in his mouth.
"Look at that, Mr. Awesome!"
"Yeah, I've got my skills." He shrugs and wipes his shoulders.
"You sure do."
"Yup. You have yours, too."
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah! You're great at throwing knives, you always win family game night, no matter what team you're on, you're a super nurturing, caring, protective mother, I could go on and on." Clove gives him a look of awe and throws another grape. This time it hits his head and snaps him back to reality.

"I have a question for you, Cato." Clove starts.
"What is it?"
"What was the time when you realized that you really loved me? Like, you folded."
"Gosh, I mean... I can't choose just one. I  just can't. Can I just list some of them?"
"Hmmm...sure!"
"Well first, the time we watched that spooky movie, and there was a jump scare, and you snuggled up next to me even more than you already had. I stroked your hair and told you that I got you. I knew I folded then. I also knew it when you sprained your ankle in the woods the day before the Winter Ball, but your favorite song played, so you just got up and started dancing through the pain. You were determined to enjoy the ball, and you did. There was this other time when you were baking the brownies that you make every Sunday and hand out to the elderly, and I came over to help you, and you scolded me for eating the brownie batter. You told me I'd get super sick, but you didn't try to stop me, because you trusted me, and you knew that I'd be smart enough to not get sick. Ooh! There was this time when you had just finished a book series and it was all you could talk about! I remember I just sat there for 3 hours, listening to you tell me all about the plot, characters, and gosh, even all the typos! That was one of the many times I knew that I was done for. I was totally, and still am, madly in love with you." Cato looks up at a speechless Clove.
"I- I, um... um... gosh, I'm speechless again, just like when we were teenagers. I need to stand up." Cato makes his way towards her as she stands up, and he's now right across from her. "I... that was..." before she can continue her ramble, Clove gets stopped by a kiss from her husband. Cato grabs Clove's waist and pulls her in. Clove wraps her arms around Cato's neck and lets him kiss her. And kiss her. And kiss her. The kiss is magnetic, like their first one. Something about it makes it impossible for the two to pull apart, and they don't. They stand there, holding on to each other, taking in the flavor of each other's lips. Cato lifts Clove up and she wraps her legs around him.  The kiss lasts about another 10 seconds before Clove stops to breathe and say,
"I love you so much."
"And I love you so much. I guess we're not speechless anymore, huh?" Both gaze into the other's eyes, and place their foreheads against one another. They then nuzzle their noses together and kiss once again.

As they walk back to the car, the two lovebirds hand in hand, Clove acknowledges what Cato said earlier.
"That was really sweet, what you said. About falling in love with me. You know, I never took you for a super romantic kind of guy, but after being with you all these years, I've realized that you are. You're super romantic, even more than me. Well, I'm not that romantic, but I'm a girl, so we're usually more so than boys and- Anyways... I just wanted to say that what you said made me totally fall in love with you all over again. Thank you." Clove goes on her tippy toes since she's now carrying her heels, and kisses Cato.  All he can say is,
"You're welcome." But he shows more affection by lifting Clove up and placing her in the car. She buckles up and he gets in, giving her one last kiss on the cheek before driving them both home.
