Encountering Sirius once more had been a challenge, specially since they lived in the same tower of the school still. Avoiding him now somehow seemed more complicated than it had throughout the rest of the year. Alas, Sandy tried to keep her cool, knowing that he would leave soon to the Potters, and that without a potion to hold back her feelings anymore, she'd just have to learn to deal with it. And the best way to learn that was by actually being in his vicinity, much to her displeasure and flusterment.
Since exams had ended, the Marauders had decided to make one last memorable prank of the year. Regulus had joined in on the conversation, as had Sandy, when she walked past them and heard their brainstorming. At that moment, Regulus had been complaining over the lack of faith the older boys had over his ability to do mischief. So, in turn, Sandy took his side, which lead to a bet. On the second last day of school (since on the very last one people would have to leave for the Hogwarts Express in the morning), two teams of trios had to prank Hogwarts; one consisted of Regulus, Remus and Sandy (self-named the 'Intellectual Trio'), while the other team consisted of James, Sirius, and Peter (self-named the 'Awesomest Trio'). Whoever's prank was most impressive had bragging rights. And so it began, with only a weeks notice, to pull off 'the best prank Hogwarts had ever seen'.
Word had spread over the school. Everyone and anyone who walked the castle halls knew of the competition. Anxiousness and anticipation filled every student, and staff member. Professors, despite their large efforts to put an end to their shenanigans, seem to be only encouraging these six students further into devilment.
Perhaps it was an unfair divide of prank players on the teams. One had three experienced pranksters, while the other had a werewolf on the brink of a full moon, and two inexperienced pranksters (one of which was a year younger too). However, they were in for a ride.
And so, when the sun rised, the mischief began. "Good morning, Sandy. How are you doing on this pleasant morning?" Sirius commented as Sandy sat on the common room, waiting for Remus to come down. He plopped down on the couch beside her, allowing his arm to wrap around her shoulders as he smirked down at her.
Sandy tried to contain the blush, which unknowns to her Sirius carried on his own cheeks too. Holding her head high, she smirked back at him. "I feel tremendously proud of myself and the rest of the Intellectual Trio. Prepare to be crushed- or rather, frozen in place, by our incredible prank."
He let out a chuckle, unable to contain the amusement he felt at her excitement. And, dare he say it, it made her much more attractive, something he had deemed impossible until that moment. "Well, prepare to loose, Cuteness, for our prank is not only the awesomest, most incredible prank we have pulled, but you will also be able to find evidence of it on every hall of the castle. Can you say the same about yours?"
"No," Sandy admitted, which only made Sirius grin enlarge. However, she wasn't finished with her declaration. "But it does cover the entirety of the ground floor itself." And so, she smirked back, and stood up, just as she saw Remus walking down the boy's dormitory stairs. "Ready to go, partner?"
"Ready as I'll ever be." They linked arms and turned to Sirius, showing their full confidence with straight backs and heads held high. "By the way, you'll find the instructions on every wall of the ground floor too, in case you struggle to navigate through our prank."
