Megatron felt conflicted. His feelings were supposed to fade, and you were meant to see him only as a friend. Yet, he found himself intoxicated by the memory of your touch. Half the reason he had even sent you away when he captured Starscream was because he didn't want the other mech looking at you let alone talking to you. He was growing to hate the possessiveness he felt over you, especially since he was supposed to give you up. He resented the fact that he partly blamed you for his feelings, since you were supposed to keep your distance from him. You were supposed to reject him, disgusted by the thought of spending your days with the likes of him.
But a part of him had concluded that whatever bond that was foraged when you two were stardust, long before either of you were born into the world, was stronger than Megatron's will to let you ignore him. It surprised him to see you stand up for a being that had insulted you. And it killed him inside when you looked at him with palpable, no, tangible anger. But he knew it wouldn't last. If you really were his Sparkmate like he suspected, then you wouldn't be able to avoid him for long, no matter how disgusted that made him feel. He could use it as an excuse, the fact you were bound together by some celestial all-knowing being, to be around you. It was no surprise he felt stronger, could see clearer, and think faster when he was around you and if he found out that he was wrong, he would be surprised. He hoped you were happy, winning the game. Getting what you wanted.
Megatron ex-vented, running a hand down his face. No, he couldn't let himself think like that. he couldn't let jealousy reign supreme over his spark chamber. Doing so would completely render any future he wanted with you useless, and after groans of research, he had only found a handful of cases like his. None of them composed of his kind with a human or any other carbon-based lifeforms but, it made sense considering Earth had been the first place Cybertronians had found said kinds of beings fully sentient and mobile.
Most other alien life was planet based. On OA-097, a plant-based planet full of shift-changing aliens, their composition mostly being made up of their own planet's foliage. Or even his own planet, Cybertron, where his kind were made of transforming metal that lived and "breathed". It was rare for sentient lifeforms to be made out of the big seven elements. Carbon being the rarest, and most definitely not intelligent other than the life that had been found on Earth. For as much as his kind would criticize humanity, Megatron had grown to find it impressive. Strengths not previously being seen in other life, the pack bond humans had for one another, including other non-living and living things, these were skills most other lifeforms had to gain over lifetimes. Not inherently born with, at least without a hivemind mentality. Something he was sure humans didn't have, but he also had never asked. Although sometimes he did catch Alex and Dorothy having a conversation with just their eyes.
He had asked once, but all she had told him was that Alex could tell what she was thinking by looking at her body language. He hadn't understood it fully, until now. After Dorothy had explained to him some things about humans, he had started to notice the little subtle things you would do, and the way you would talk without words. The way your shoulders dipped when something made you embarrassed, the way you would hide your face when you were blushing, even the little glances he would catch you giving him. Of course he was an idiot. An idiot where on his planet, when two people liked each other, they would just tell each other. Rejection was common, especially during and after the war, but no one "beat around the bush". Even his own comrades had fallen for the human way. He saw the way Optimus and Elita would dance around their affections like the little humans. For over a decade he didn't understand. It must have been karma, since he got it now. He felt the skips in his spark when you were near. He almost disintegrated on the spot when you reached out to him. He hated the thought of fate. He hated the way it wrapped him in a red string and tied himself to you. The way he was stuck on this planet until you left. The way jealousy would crawl over his metal plating terrified him. He needed to see you.
