If you could think of anything worse than grappling with the reality that you were almost immortal due to some weird ass inter-dimensional shenanigans, where this world's time was moving or existing slower than your home worlds, it would be dealing with that on top of a significant other basically jumping for joy about it. He was more excited than a kid being told they got Disneyland tickets. Or as if he himself had kidnapped Santa Clause to have Christmas every day of the year, the smile he tried to hide and bursting sparkbeat you could hear for a mile away gave him up completely. You didn't have to wonder how he truly felt about you not only being stuck in this universe for the time being, but also how you would be living for an extended lifetime that would probably span over ten generations, since you could see the electricity radiating off of him.
He was elated.
No.
He was more than that.
For the first time since you had met him, he was hopeful. While you had been thinking about all the pros and cons about your situation, he was practically planning around you. It was almost overwhelming, (in a good way you guessed). But since a small, albeit, significant part of you was also excited you felt guilty for being petty about his oversaturated joy. Your only saving grace was reminding yourself that just because you had to potential to live forever didn't mean you would live forever. There were still plenty of ways you could probably end up getting yourself killed.
Your "boyfriend" didn't exactly leave his last job with glowing reviews and a good reference so to say you wouldn't be kidnapped by an old, disgruntled ex-employee sometime down the line was naive at best. You could easily look to Starscream for that considering he still would try and convince you of Megatron's more monstrous nature even to this day. And speaking of the ex-second in command of the Decepticons, he had been the only one to notice the difference in your relationship so far. He had tried to use it against you when you were alone, saying how Megatron must have been ashamed of you for him to not tell anyone about it, but you had squashed his hopes of making you feel bad by telling him it was your idea to wait.
You could admit, the new information had taken a toll on your mental health. Existential crisis after existential crisis rendered you tired both from sleeping and being awake so you had taken the rest of the week off from the park. Claiming you must have gotten sick, but in reality, you were just overwhelmed with everything and everyone. All the Malto's had given you space, save for Hashtag who came over every day to check on you if you didn't answer her texts fast enough. Even Megatron had left you alone. Stopping by once a day but not really pressing to stay around. You knew he felt bad about not feeling bad. But you just needed time. It was a complicated situation, and you just needed time, and he knew that.
Once the weekend came you felt you needed some fresh air. It wasn't snowy yet, but it had grown colder. Trying to stay warm, you bundled up in a heavier jacket and made sure to wear some fleece lined boots before you started your walk on the trail behind your home. You didn't have a destination in mind at first but as you walked down a familiar curve you set your sights on the meadow. You tried to remember the way there, taking note of any trees or bushes that could remind you of the way back. Soon, you had broken through the tree line, looking out at the frosty haven, wondering how cold the ground would be.
You walked to a bolder that sat near said pond, looking it over and deducing it would be nice to sit on. You reached your hands up and while feeling for a divot you could lock your fingers in to pull you up, you shivered from the sharp chill of the stone on the pads of your hands. After pulling yourself up and taking in a deep breath you swung your legs over and looked out to the open field, letting your stress seep out of your veins and sink into the cold granite beneath you.
