i wake up with a searing ache in my head, groaning internally, i grab my toiletry bag and pad into the bathroom. after taking a warm shower, i make my way to the beauty room, changing into some comfortable clothes before crawling back into bed. sometime later the lights turn on, the islanders stirring and voicing their usual complaints. eventually, the noise wakes rob up, he turns to face me, furrowing his brows as he looks me over.
"birdie, what happened?" he asks, i groan into the pillow, refusing to get up as i mutter, "i woke up with a migraine, i took a shower to try to help with the pain" he nods in understanding, tucking me back in as he makes his way out of bed. "can i get you anything?" he asks sweetly, i shake my head as i thank him, grateful for the offer but uninterested in anything other than sleep. he kisses my head as he leave and i doze off once again.
after getting ready, rob makes his way to the beauty room, knocking as he enters and makes his way straight to jana. "hey" he whispers, "rory woke up with a migraine this morning. she said she didn't want anything but i have sisters, i know how that works. is there anything she told you she likes, or do you know of anything i can bring her?" jana tells him to make her a light breakfast, and gives him some pain medicine to help with her headache. rob exits the room, a pep in his step as he makes his way to the kitchen to prepare some toast and fresh fruit.
"hey", he startles at the sound, turning around to find andrea, making her way towards him. he frowns, going back to making rory's plate. she stops beside him, pushing out her boobs as she leans against the counter. "i was hoping we could talk" she croons, rob holding back a shiver of disgust as he looks at her in disbelief. "i'm busy actually, and i thought i made it pretty clear i wasn't interested" he says gruffly, hoping it will shoo her away. as usual, she is unable to take the hint, she scoffs out "she doesn't let you have friends", a petulant look appearing on her face. rob takes a breath, trying to maintain his composure as he responds, "rory doesn't tell me what to do and actually, i'm friends with all of the other girls. i just have no interest in supporting this delusion you have that i want anything to do with you." he turns, dismissing her as he gathers the plate and makes his way back to the bedroom, to his girl.
i wake to a warm weight resting against my back. i smile slightly, looking over to rob watching me with a fond look on his face. "i know you said you didn't need anything, but i talked to jana, she told me to bring you a light breakfast. she also gave me some pain medicine, if you would like those" he says, a light blush covering his cheeks. i pull him in for a kiss, accepting the plate and the medicine as a proud look covers his face. after i eat, he sets the plate back on the table, pulling me into his lap as we relax into each other.
eventually my head starts to ache again, i squint slightly, uncomfortable but not willing to bring it up. after a bit he notices, a blush covering his cheeks as he gently massages my scalp. "is this okay?" he whispers, i smile brightly, dimples flashing as i thank him, melting in his hold as the pain dissipates. i nap for a little while longer, rob's hand never stoping his movements as i rest easily in his embrace. after a while, he gently nudges me awake, whispering slightly as he tells me i need to eat something. we head downstairs for lunch, checking in the the other islanders as we sit on the daybeds.
i notice andrea sending me dirty looks, but think nothing of it. after the third time of catching her eyes, i ask lightly, "has something happened with andrea?" kordell chuckles, "your boy happened. she waltzed her happy ass up to him while he was making you breakfast this morning. i didn't catch the whole thing but from what i understand, he humbled her real quick." my eyes widen, i look up at rob for confirmation as he nods with an irritated expression on his face. jana and serena giggle, "as he should" they chorus, i try not to laugh, but fail as i fall into giggles with them.
i pull rob closer, giving him a hug as i know, despite the irritation, her actions have struck a nerve within him. his protective nature doesn't allow for people to be disrespectful to those he holds close. he pulls me tighter, relaxing in the ease and security of our connection. despite only knowing each other for a short time, we've managed to build a strong relationship, flush with affection and respect. we chat for the rest of the afternoon, the conversation light as we laugh and enjoy the peaceful aura of the group. i find myself blocking out the rest of the villa, fully immersing myself in the joy of the moment.
i should have known that what goes up, must come down. as i was relaxing, i was unaware of andrea's eyes filling with contempt. as we head upstairs to get ready, she follows, determined to put an end to my good mood.
