I woke up, now earlier than I was used to, I had to come in before everyone else. I had forgotten to set my alarm for it but luck was on my side and I woke up by mere chance on my own body's accord. I looked at the clock; 9 AM, it read. By 9:30 I had to be there, so I had some time. But that was if I didn't start contemplating life while brushing my teeth, which was a big if. However, lady luck had joined my side and I did get to work on time.

I think it is time to provide a little bit of background on what the company's been through. Throughout my time, and before that. Flashback...

As all big corporations have, the one I was presently boss of too has humble, yet seemingly inspiring beginnings. The previous CEO, the one we had seen off 2 days ago, was also the founder. There were no cofounders. He had begun the business all on his own. He was also not supported in any way by his parents. They had left him with a sum of money enough to live for a few months and a house. He made do with what he had and then the small business, "SyntaxSolutions™," was born. A computer company which did everything from manufacturing the machines to coming to your house to fix your smart toaster. He had gathered a small number of workers. One was the guy who had spoken to introduce the boss at the ceremony. A few weeks later I joined the workforce. But it wasn't this me, that was the person inhabiting this body before I was transferred here. And the rest was history. End Flashback...

And back to reality, I came, as I reached the tall building. I walked in and said a short hello to the lady at the reception, and she greeted me back, again not feeling the need for redundancies. I went up the elevator and exited once I had reached the designated floor. I greeted those who came early, to get some work done before the day had officially started for them.

I then made my way to my office and sat down at my sleek desk. "New day, new me," I thought to myself. Presently, I opened my briefcase. It wasn't the container itself I was interested in, it was the contents I had my eyes on. Specifically, I had gotten my phone previously, when I had left my old one in a taxi, at my desk, or anywhere. The important part was I didn't have it any more, so I got a new one, the latest model. I picked up the phone, half marvelling at it. I opened a specific storage app, "Vooble Drive," which was the brand. "Vooble," was a popular company in its industry, not a competitor of my company, at least not yet. I transferred all of the files I had on it to a new app, "SynSol Drive," a new app pioneered originally by the last CEO. An app that instead of giving a minimal amount of storage for free and gaining money from the temptation of buying more for an incredible price, you would get all of that for free. It would be free of ads as well. The main money making spectacle was that you could pay to edit some of them. Only some types could be edited for free. And you had to pay the same fee if you tried to export it to a separate editor. It would resist all types of extensions and programs encrypting it to every detail. The encryption was mostly for the one who had access to the document, not outsiders. You would not be able to use any OCR software on it either. It was a work in progress but the idea was incredible.

I closed the application, after forgetting what I was going to do. I deleted Vooble Drive and put down my phone at the side of my desk. I cracked my knuckles and got to work. Ever so gruelling work. It was so boring that I won't even tell you about it. Business was the most fun part of it, and business was boring which tells you how boring the entire work day was.

There was no commotion that day, no pay change. However, our stock prices went up. So that meant more money for the company, and in turn, more money for me. So that was good, but I wasn't really ever concerned about money. So I wasn't rejoicing. The real action came after work. Once I had exited the workplace, the appointed time after the rest of the building, I walked towards my usual taxi spot, but the futuristic car wasn't present. So I decided to walk, it would only take 5 more minutes. As I walked towards my humble abode, looked into an alleyway, specifically the contents, 3 men, skinny yet blood curdling. One scowled, gun in his hand, ready to shoot. Immediately, dropping my bag, I spun around. Time stopped. I realised this fact taking, advantage of it in an instant, running behind him and hitting him on the side of his head, resuming time, snatching the gun out of his hand, and pausing it once again. To any onlookers, it would be as if I had teleported behind him and then suddenly had his gun in my hand.

I lifted the gun and, for a split second, returned the flow of time to its natural state, shot at another one of the men, and bent it to my will once again. My previous life's self defence instincts controlling me, I repeated this once more with utmost precision, also killing him. Realising I had left the first one alive, I was about to shoot at him as well, then I had the thought to spare him.

I dropped the gun, ending the futile assassination attempt smiling to myself. There were no bystanders, so I walked home. "Someone will find them eventually," I thought. I was at ease, after such an easy but petrifying experience.

Once I had arrived home, I committed to making a nice lasagne for dinner, a relishing meal to enjoy before I retired to bed. Starting with cooking the beef mince and then cooking the 'white sauce' into flat sheets. Eventually assembling it all together. With a bit of mozzarella cheese as a finishing touch. I then put it all in my spacious oven to melt the cheese and really blend the ingredients into a seamless experience.

A forgettable amount of time later, it was done. I took it out and... I forgot to turn the oven on... Anyway, I put it back in, remembered to turn the oven on and waited the same amount of an infinitely forgettable, yet long time.

After that happened, I took it out, perfectly cooked, an orangish brown. I took out 3 plates, realised I lived alone, and put 2 back. I set the remaining one on the table, had an incredible urge to go to bed as soon as I was finished and not have to do too many dishes, put the plate back in the rack, took the tray of lasagne and a spoon, put the spoon in the tray, or rather on top, placed the tray on the table, and finally sat down.

Once that debacle was over, I took the spoon, put it on the table, waved it aside, and used my hands to grab a big chunk of the lasagne, and shoved it down my throat. I repeated this ten times, until the lasagne was completely gone from existence.

After that, I realised I had eating, or possibly mental problems. I brushed my teeth vigorously for 15 minutes, changed into my sleeping clothes, and went to bed. 5 seconds later I realised I had forgotten to do the dishes. So I got up, went to the kitchen, realised it was too much to do in 5 minutes, and went back to bed.
