When I opened my eyes again, the first thing that assaulted my senses was the sunshine beaming in from the window, mixing in with the sound of beeping monitors, and bringing with it a throbbing in my brain. I immediately brought my hand up to my head, confused with where the throbbing pain was coming from.
"Hey – hey, it's okay." A large hand wrapped around mine, I wished it was Johnnys, but I knew it was Joey. "I'm here."
"Joe?" I croaked out anxiously, feeling my heart race at a hundred miles an hour, as I desperately sought him out. "Joe?"
"Shh, take it easy," a vaguely familiar male voice replied. "I'm right here, Grace.""What happened?" I asked, my voice cracking as if I hadn't talked in days.
He sat back in the chair, rubbing his hand across his face. "Teddy fucking Lynch happened."
I slowly sat up, only to be greeted with another agonising pain in my side. "Jesus" I groaned, placing my hand on my side.
"A lot of shit's after happening" he added, letting out a sigh. "And your phone's been hopping off the walls, when were we going to meet this boyfriend of yours?" Joey had a small grin on his face, given the circumstances it lightened the mood.
I groaned, throwing my head back against the stack of pillows. "Slipped my mind."
He chuckled, "Yeah well, he's way too fucking experienced for you."
"Same could be said for you and Aoife" I replied, laughing a little which immediately caused pain.
"That's different" he rolled his eyes.
"Mhm" I replied, that's when my phone almost buzzed off the table.
