Chapter 11

Tony pov

When I get off the elevator with Rhodey and Sam, I half expected Cali to be gone. what I didn't expect to see was half my team. Tied up, knocked out. stabbed or in cages. Rhodey asks, "how do we get them out?"

I sigh as I take a seat on one of the stool in the kitchen. " it will wear off on its own." I call out, "is anyone burning or burned."

Nat who is sitting in the dead center of her cage, refusing to touch the bars again, slightly raises her hand. Sam walks over to the cage and raises his hand to feel the heat radiating off of it. he turns to Loki and ask, "You can't do your magic thingy to make this go away?"

Loki sneers at him and then winces as he tries to stand, "No."

"Maybe we should call shield. this isn't good. " Rhodey says as he gestures to the situation around them. "All of you got your ass kick by one little girl. 2 super soldiers, 2 gods and a hawk, a widow and ironman."

Loki goes to the bar and says, "She isn't just some girl. her mother was a very powerful goddess, who created very powerful children. So powerful, my father had her executed and all her children executed along with her."

Sam says, "geez. And why not her?"

Loki takes a sip and says, "her mother used magic to hide Calida magic from my father. It didn't manifest until her 13th birthday. And even then, I helped to hide it from my father."

Steve finally freed from the fire rope stands and says, "there is no need to get fury involved."

Bucky walks to the bar and says, "why the hell not?"

Steve says, "if she really wanted to hurt us, she would have."

Everyone's fire cages begin to evaporate into smoke and clint says, "I agree. She was playing with us."

I raise my hand, "I beg to differ. She kicked me out of the window."

Loki smirks and then it fades as he finishes healing himself. "She stabbed me in the back. literally."

Kate stands up and says, "She shot a fire arrow at me."

"in her defense you shot at her first." I reminds her.

"So we have a crazy fire goddess on the loose. What do we do?" Sam asks.

"We bring her home. "Steve says.

"am I the only one that is still shook by the fact that she picked up Mjolnir?" Kate asks.

Tony scoffs. "I can't believe she's worthy."

Thor groans on the other side of the room and everyone turns to look at him still lying face down on the ground.

Calida Pov

When I arrive back at my apartment after walking around the city for a few hours, I was happy to see Kai sleep. the last thing I wanted to do was entertain him after what happened. I will have to come up with a reason for I wasn't here when he came home. I will just tell him I went to teach the avengers a lesson on dropping by people houses uninvited.

I walk into the bathroom, and I hop into the shower. I turn the cold water on, and I let it shock me out of my melancholy. I watch the steam rise from my body as the cold water hit my too hot skin. I put my face under the spray and moan as the cold water cools my too warm face.

Behind my lids, I cant get the looks of fear and disgust on everyone's face out of my head. tears runs down my cheeks, but you would never know. the water chases them down the drain. I put my hand over my mouth as a sob escape my mouth as I realize, things will never be the same again.
