Chapter 15 Bucky Pov

I watch her. every chance I get, I'm in the surveillance room, watching, monitoring. Making sure she is alright. After everything that has happened and Fury making plans to take her away from us soon, this might be my last chance to see her.

We sit in these meetings, and everyone throws around these theories of what could be going on with her. Is she working for Dreykov and the red room? has she been brainwashed by hydra? or is all of this revenge on Tony and Loki? I don't know her very well, but I put my 2 cent in whenever I can. But I believe her. whatever she is doing, it has nothing to do with any of those reasons. There is something else there and I don't understand why they don't see it.

During the last meeting I was allowed to attend pertaining to Cali, I ended up getting into another altercation with Tony that week. the first time was when we were all down in the cell trying to talk to Cali. Or at least that's what they call it. it looked more like an ambush.

Something about her screams and the way she cried was reminiscent of my time with hydra and that chair. I shiver when I think about it. when I saw tony was the controlling the amount of pain he was putting her through I immediately stepped into action and punched him in the eye.

That one hit caused him to stumble back and droop the remote. But by that time, she had already passed out. a few days later, in the meeting, Tony made a few remarks, I thought were very rude when speaking of a lady. I stood up and told him not to speak of her in that way. his defense, that's his sister, so he earned the right to speak how he feels. I respect that, but I don't have to like it. so I lunged for him, if it weren't for Sam and Steve, he would've ended up with another black eye.

Its after midnight, and I'm sitting in the dark watching her rock and forth in the farthest corner of the room. her days and nights are off, so she sleeps during the day and is up all night. but after Fury's visit, it doesn't matter whether its day or night, she pretty much does the same thing all day. sit and cry. or lay in bed and cry. its soft and subtle, but I can see it. it seems no one is willing to acknowledge that something isn't right. I've spoken to Steve and Nat about this several times. Nat wants to believe me. but she thinks there is too much evidence staked against her.

I've even brought up the fact that if she wanted to hurt us, she would have. she had plenty of chances to. And for a second, I thought I was getting through to them, until Fury showed up with his own evidence of all the horrors she committed back when she was underground. According to Fury, Cali wasn't only stealing information and selling it to the highest bidder. But she was also, kidnapping little girls that had "potential" and selling to Dreykov.

Even with the evidence in front of me, I still refuse to believe it. Loki and Thor, who has known her the longest, gave up on her so easily. I could see the news of what's she has done broke them, as they left for Asgard the same day. they haven't been back since.

Then there is Tony. he spends all day in his lab, refusing to talk to or about her. Steve, Nat, and Bruce takes turns sitting with her, trying to get her to talk and eat. But it's like she isn't there anymore. the fire within her has burned out. she has given up.

"Hey."

I jump as I turn in my seat to see Wanda. her eyes moves from me to the screen. "How is she?"

"the same."

"You're worried about her?" Wanda moves to sit in the chair next to me.

"I believe her. whatever she was doing, I don't think, it was bad." I frown as I remember her lying on the floor screaming, In pain. Everyone scrambling trying to put out the flames. Tony was standing over her watching her with as he continuously pushed that button. I turn to Wanda, "Can't you read her mind?"
