Chapter 19: Little girl gone

The next morning, I get up and decide to make breakfast for the team. Its supposed to be Natasha's day, but I'm a nervous cooker. It's like a tick. I'm feeling restless, I can't use my magic and there is no point in training or working out. so I will cook.

After slipping on some clothes, I go into the kitchen to see what we got. After getting lost in the pantry, I decided to make cinnamon rolls from scratch and fresh squeezed orange juice. I even ground my own coffee beans. I even made the frosting from scratch. somehow along the way, I got into my head, if I make them the best breakfast they've ever had, they will forgive me and completely forget about the time I ruined their Avengers anniversary party or the time, I kicked all their asses and put them in a cage.

I chuckle nervously to myself as I bend down to take the cinnamon rolls out of the oven. I almost drop the pan when the elevator dings. This is it. I hear the voices before I see them, Steve, Bucky and one other person. Male.

I stand to my full height and smile as they all stop talking. I wonder if they are having de ja Vue. I place the pan down and say, "I come in peace this time. I promise." Bucky and Steve smiles and I know they are thinking the same thing. The man from before, with the wings, says, "isn't that burning your hand?"

I look down and see that I forgot to put my oven mitts on. I don't need it. but to appear normal and put others at ease, I do things like not touch fire that I don't create myself, or pick up things normal people would consider too hot. I grimace, "oh sorry."

He says, "you don't have to apologize." he looks me over as he walks over to the counter, "so you're the little girl that kicked everyone asses."

My eyes glides between the man, steves and buckys. I try not laugh as I ask, "who are you?"

He puffs out his chest and says, "I am the falcon. But you can call me Sam" the smile he gives me is friendly and warm. I reach my hand out to him and say, "nice to finally meet the infamous falcon."

Sam takes my hand to shake without thinking twice. It's still weird when I find people wiling to touch me, knowing what I could do. instead of being afraid, disgusted, or guarded, he turns his amused smile on Steve and Bucky and say, "see she knows who I am. the Falcon."

I pull out 3 glasses and set them on the counter. "of course, you were all over the news. The accords were a big deal." I pour the guys some orange juice as they take a seat at the counter. "it was very impressive to see you guys fighting together as a team. As a family."

Sam shrugs, "well what can I say, I'm just loyal like that. anything for my friends."

I giggle as I watch Sam boast and bucky roll his eyes. Steve ask, "is this for us?" he gestures towards the rolls.

"Yes. Its my way of saying I'm sorry...for kicking your ass."

They laugh and as they scoop a roll onto their plate. after one bite sam. says, "you're forgiven."

Bucky makes a face at him with a mouthful of cinnamon roll, "you weren't even there?"

Sam shrugs, "I'm sure it wasn't that bad."

I lean on the counter across from bucky, "am I forgiven?"

I watch as he licks frosting off his lips. feeling dizzy with sudden desire, it take everything in me to focus on his words and the fact that there are two other people in this room. he smiles and says, "Doll, you can tie me up anytime."

Sam asks very confused as he looks from Steve to bucky and then to me, "when was he tied up?"

Blushing, I pull back and I change the subject, "so what happened with Kai?"
