"this is a stupid idea." I say above the blaring music.

Steve finishes his sip of beer and Ask, "what is?"

I wave the bartender back over and say, "being out in the open, when there is a psychotic mad man after Cali." The bartender sets down 2 more beers, and I slide one to Steve.

Steve takes a sip and says, "she wants to celebrate her freedom. can you blame her?"

I frown and shrug. "I just think we should hold off until we catch this guy is all."

Steve sighs as we both look over at Nat, Wanda Clint and Cali sitting at a table laughing and taking shots. "I think she's okay for now. kai thinks she is on the west coast. That buys us a little time before he realize she isn't there. Plus she doesn't have to do this alone, she has us now."

Feeling guilty, I say, "yea." I put my head down and focus on my beer. Steve possibly feeling the same guilt I'm feeling says, "none of us knew."

I glare up at Steve, "because you were so focused on trying to save me... they took her."

Steve nudges me, "hey, there was a lot going on. it wasn't just you. you heard fury, we had Loki and his whole invasion thing going on, and then the killer robot, the sokovia situation. Its no ones fault."

I grunt, unable to rid myself of this crippling guilt. he says, "the point is, she's free now. she has us."

Sam walks in with two women on his arm and says, "ladies, I would like to introduce you to Captain America and his side kick sergeant crabby pants."

I glare at Sam as the women giggle. I turn back towards my drink choosing to ignore Sam and his friends. I don't want to be rude, but I'm just not in the mood for interacting tonight. the four-hour meeting we sat through really took a lot of us... out of me. to know everything she went through, everything Howard put her through makes me want to hurt someone. then there is the fact that shield took an idea out of hydra playbook and used it on a child. it makes me sick to my stomach.

I turn to look at her, smiling and laughing, happy and carefree. I cant help but admire her strength. Even with everything she has been through, she still manages to shine brighter than the sun.

Steve asks one of the women to dance and I watch as he twirls the woman smoothly as soon as they hit the little dance floor. Sam and the other woman are ordering shots and whispering into each other ear. I cringe as I move one seat down from them to give them space.

Everyone seems at ease at the moment, and I'm wondering if I'm the only one that is bothered by everything said in that meeting today. this guy could show up at anytime and were all here with our guard down, drinking.

Tony decided to go visit Pepper in Hong Kong, stating he needed a break from all the doom and gloom, but promise to be back In a few days. Loki is at the Tower sulking over the fact that Cali and I slept together, and Thor is with Jane tonight. Kate and Yelena, who are fresh off a mission is decided to have some quiet time alone. it seems no one but me is bothered by all of this and I don't like it.

After the meeting with Fury, Tony decided to hold another meeting, where he removed Calis' gold bondage from her wrist. Announced a Christmas party upon his return since Christmas is less than 3 weeks away and Then he said we need to amp up security around the building and double check everyone background that works in the building. He also assigned teams to take turns going in to try to find Kai before he finds her. Fury says he's sending a few people into the area and will just hope for the best at this point.
