Stacey quickly stood up from her seat. Her heart was racing, pumping so hard against her chest and she thought it would burst. She couldn't quite imagine that this time would come and she wasn't ready. She suddenly thought of Jhoanna, she had to protect her from her father he should not know their relationship. Because when he found out.

Their relationship would no doubt to be over.

That though spiked the adrenaline higher through her body causing her to shake in her spot. Jhoanna noticed that Stacey's hand was trembling, so she held the latter's hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.

"What are you doing here dad?"There is a trace of nervousness in Aiah's voice while talking to her father.

"Where is your stubborn sister?"

The powerful voice alone of Stacey's father sends shivers down Jhoanna's spine. She was now in the same room with the man who created a barrier between Stacey and freedom.

"I was calling you and your sister, your not answering. Where were you?"

"I-I'm sorry dad. Nakapatay po kasi phone namin. It won't happen again."

"I'm really disappointed to you Aiah."His voice was filled with anger and authority. "Instead of taking care of the business I'm asking you to handle, you're here doing useless things. You're being stubborn now like your sister."

Stacey's father stood tall and proud. He commanded attention, his dark neat hair was slick back and she was wearing a suit that looked expensive. If Jhoanna were to describe him based on his looks, he has this exuding aura of confidence, authority, and self-assuredness that makes you feel smaller or inferior.

He also looks intimidating and a powerful person, possessing an intense piercing gaze that can make you feel scrutinized or uneasy.

And Jhoanna seems to have seen him in popular magazines and business tabliods. That's why he's face was familiar.

His cold gazes slowly glanced at everyone in the room. And suddenly his eyes stopped at Stacey and Jhoanna who's hands were entwined in each other. Stacey slowly hid her and Jhoanna's entwined hands behind her back. But she knew it was too late, because her father had seen it.

Stacey's father returned her eyes to Jhoanna again. A glint of curious gaze in him before facing Stacey.

"I have something important to tell you."His voice was deep and commanding."I want you to go with me tonight."Jhoanna could feel Stacey's grip on her.

"Why?"

"I will introduce you to your godfather's son, he will be a great help in our business. And you should get to know each other, before we plan about your marriage."

"What? No!"Stacey's voice broke. She looked so fragile into her father's gaze.

Jhoanna whipped her head to Stacey's direction, when she heard what Stacey's father said, as if she was looking for an answer from the latter.

Marriage? What?

Jhoanna knew that Stacey doesn't know nothing about this and this was all her father's plan. But she couldn't help but feel her chest ache, and all the blood in her body suddenly rose to her head. The thought of Stacey marrying someone else makes her heart twitched.

"That's an order Stacey Aubrey. Don't be stubborn and don't make me mad again."Her father's harsh tone made it clear that no one can stop his decisions. His voice this time left no room for argument. Stacey's father was truly exhibiting a forceful personality that overwhelms or bulldozes over others.

"Dad, Is that really necessary?"Aiah suddenly spoke. She tried to fight back for her sister but she knew she will not succeed."Why does Stacey have to—"
