Chapter 30

After a few more days Jhoanna was feeling much better.

Hopefully.

She decided to move on, even if it breaks her heart.

She had to do that.

She has to move on with life without Stacey by her side. As human beings we have the capacity to hurt terribly but we are built to evolve. The only thing bigger than pain is time.

Time heals all wounds. That's what Jhoanna kept saying in her mind, but it doesn't actually. It just patches a broken heart, it doesn't get any easier over time especially if you still love the person and there is still hope for you to get back together.

Stacey still calls her and consistently messages her every night and she still puts food in Jhoanna's locker with a sticky note containing sweet words every morning.

But her last message yesterday was stuck in Jhoanna's brain all night.

Wait for me Jho, please be patient with me. Babalikan kita, sana lang may babalikan pa ako.

Jhoanna's heart clenched while reading that, if only she knew she wanted to come back to Stacey's life again.

She wanted that.

So much.

But Jhoanna just learned to accept that was the end of their relationship. She thought about this decision several times and cried. Because if she only follows her heart, she might even come to Stacey herself and beg to return what they once had.

But she was being delusional, she knows very well that Stacey will not agree because she is afraid of her father

For the past two days she also became the subject of discussion at school and even on social media because other students witnessed Stacey chasing her and most of them made negative comments about Jhoanna. But she didn't care, because she didn't want to add more to her thoughts and problems.

Anyway, she was going to move on. When she sets foot in their school again, everything will be cool.

No more pain

No more crying.

But her plan seems to be impossible to follow. Today is their school gala. It was canceled several times, but finally it was happening tonight. And her friends were very excited about it, Jhoanna had no intention of going because she had planned to watch a movie all night. But her plan was ruined when her friends suddenly came to force her to go to the school gala.

Jhoanna was lying comfortably on her bed when her friends suddenly entered her room.

"Tumayo kana dyan."Maloi patted her friends shoulder.

Jhoanna groaned."Ayoko, sino ba kasing nagsabing pupunta ako sa school gala. Ayoko! Go away Anna!"

"Remove yourself from your bed, clean yourself up. Let's go out and play~"Maloi throws her entire weight on the top of Jhoanna.

"Ayoko!"Jhoanna stubbornly replies back, rolling her body causing Maloi to fall on the ground. Fortunately, Colet caught her immediately preventing her from falling to the floor.

"Jhoanna dahan dahan naman."

A muffled laugh came out of Jhoanna's mouth. She slowly raised her head, while suppressing her laughter. Maloi and Colet glared at her, she did the same and soon her room was filled with laughter. Because they were being silly and childish.

After a few minutes of forcing Jhoanna to come in the school gala, napapayag din nila ito.

Jhoanna was anxious about the gala, because she knew she would see Stacey again. She hasn't seen her for a few days since Stacey chased her in the school hallway. So she didn't know how she would react when she saw her again.
