How about a flight?
I glanced back repulsively pulling back on Bloodborne's saddle. I shook my head out of my thoughts, and then signaled for Bloodborne to catch up, “I-I…Yeah I’m fine, just a bit shaken!” I admitted. I continuously kept glancing back at Dagur’s ships, who by now was on one of his boats. I felt like throwing up from how stressful this night had turned out to be. Nausea filling my head, doing the breathing technique Fishlegs had taught me and looked forwards.
Dagurs Pov.
How the helheim did this even happen! My love was stolen by her noodle of a brother , my darling love manipulated Y/N the Daredevil, the woman set to be my wife and my queen! Chieftess of the berserker tribe and then Empress of the archipelago! Reduced and taken away by worthless scum. I stormed around the boat angrily rubbing at the crossbow she had given me one I had pointed at her. And her words she never said she wasn't going to be my bride does that mean she wants to, it must! I stopped as Savage stepped in front of me. “I should kill those brats for lying to you, Chief.” My ship captain growled, my head and body whipped around, he best not mean my wife. I watched his fist curl into a ball as he imagined hurting my darling, his future chieftess!
How dare he even imagine such a thing even utter my love's name muchless think of my wife! I quickly ended this fantasy by thrusting a knife to his throat, my eyes wide and menacing. “NO ONE!! Hurts Y/N. NO ONE, UNDERSTAND?!” I raged, the sight of my love terrified, her lying face looking to me both enraged and comfort me. “No one gets to hurt Hiccup either. No one, except me. That’s how I’ll teach my love a lesson for her… lies.” I growled, watching as the sun rose seeing her dragon’s shape in the distance. I smiled, “I’ll have his Nightfury. And I’ll have my Y/N as my wife. It’s only a matter of time…” I let out a laugh, a crazed one, a beautiful one as Savage joined me.
Y/N
It had been about a week since our last little encounter with Dagur, my birthday drawing nearer by the day, only two more weeks and I'll be 19. “I can’t believe I ever let that…that maniac, anywhere near you.” I gave a groan the past few days i've spent talking my father down from recalling our marriage because well that would only upset him more- at least thats what ive told him- I felt my face involuntarily scrunch up into a scowl as i realized my father, was suggesting I couldn’t handle one man. However much to my dismay his angry pace through the great hall stopped as he turned towards me placing a hand on my shoulder, “I know you can hold your own, sweetheart, but a father worries.” He sighed at me, wiping the sweat off his brow from the previous angry rant he’d been on. I took his large hand that had been held out to gesture towards me, I looked up smiling at him.
He took both my hands rubbing at the back of them, “I still see you as that little girl who used to ask me about everything there was to know. Well, you and your brother I suppose.” I gave him a warm smile before the door to the great hall swung open. “Berserkers have been spotted attacking Bucket and Mulch out West!” Hiccup exclaimed, Bloodborne roaring and nudging me out of the door. “Oh gods- ok see you later, dad!” I shouted back at Stoick who had ran out of the door after me. “Be safe! That goes for the both of you!”
Whatever panic Hiccup had been in, it had pretty much subsided by the time we reached Bucket and Mulch’s ship. Both older Vikings were holding their own very well against the Berserkers raiding their ship. Wait a minute Berserkers!
I spotted a plank being placed between the ships “Come on boy!” I leaned, steering Bloodborne to go low as he blasted at the plank, while Snotlout and Hookfang came along to crack it and send it tumbling into the ocean. Stormfly sent a few spine shots into the side and deck of the boat and Toothless bumped harshly into it, sending the Vikings rocking violently.
Me and Astrid both high fived as we started hearing shouts of “Retreat!” sending the Berserkers to their ships moving as fast as the men could row them. Landing on the incredibly large icebergs, which was basically an icy island, I noticed a dark spot in the midst of the ice. Hiccup questioned Bucket and Mulch as they disembarked their ship. “What happened?”
“Oh, I don’t know Hiccup, maybe they got attacked by Berserkers?” I said sarcastically, becoming him over while looking closer at the dark spot, grinning slightly after hearing Astrid and Snotlout give small laughs at my retort. “Very funny, Y/N. You guys know what I mean though.” I could practically hear Hiccup rolling his eyes from behind me. As I was crouched over to look at whatever was frozen in the ice.
I decided to go around the whole piece to where more of the dark spot was, all voices around me seemed to trail off despite all of them walking in the same direction as me. “Hiccup- HICCUP?” I called in a quieter tone before raising my voice. My breath hitched as I stared at the dragon in the eyes. It might have been frozen but it was like it was staring back at me. I had come across this dragon once before letting it go, releasing that it was in fact a Skrill the signal for the Berserker tribe its head would not bode over well with the people as it was the only dragon they seemed to even slightly… tolerate?
Much to my dismay we carried the block of ice back to Berk, setting it down in the arena, Mulch led Hiccup and Astrid around to where I was still staring at it. All Vikings present already knowledgeable of my little moment with Dagur and wary that he may try anything to get me.. What they found hiding in the ice instead, however, was a very large and very dangerous looking dragon. “Hiccup-” I tried to speak but my voice caught in my throat.
“It’s a dragon? This is what the Berserkers were trying to dig out?” Hiccup asked, pressing his hand to the ice near its face as I just stood staring into its eye. Probably not the best idea, but I couldn't bring myself to look away. “But…why did they want to dig it out?” Astrid questioned, rubbing her hand against her chin. “Doesn’t matter, it’s our dragon now.” Snotlout grinned, taking a closer look at the long spines and vicious teeth it displayed. I sighed and shook my head as he pulled up his upper lip and made fake biting motions at it. “Snotlout, if that breaks out of there and eats you, I’m not helping.” I said finally after tearing my eyes away from the dragon and finding my voice again the first thing I did was make fun of snotlout a joy to the world.
“ Hiccup.” His head turned towards me as I grabbed his shoulder staring back at the skrill again, "It's a skrill I am 100% certain of!!” I announced in the quietness of the Academy,Hiccup jumped at least 10 feet in the air from excitement or fear. Maybe it was because both he and Fishlegs were bewildered. I recognized it. Evident by the look they both shared on their faces. “Are you sure??” Fishlegs asked me, bounding over with Hiccup in similar excitement to onne another, “Of course, I’m sure! I’d recognise that body structure anywhere! After my run in with one i was out hunting with Dagur and had it there ready for the kill but i of course let it go, do you know how important Skrills are to Berserker heritage?!” I said crossing my arms gesturing to the sword I still had from Dagur's first visit. It was in its sheath around my waist the giant Skrill silhouette and lightning evident as the leather was still in prime condition. Fishlegs began geeking out with Hiccup.
Astrid, Snotlout, the twins, and I just kind of stayed back and watched them burn themselves out over how amazing this find was. Astrid came over, “and how do you know about this exactly?” I turned towards her, raising a brow at how stupid the question was. “I learned everything about Berserker history, you know considering I…” was? Am I? Supposed? “You know my old future that I thought was secured.” She nodded as my fist tightened on the hilt of the sword. Still a small grudge.
After sprinting to the Great Hall, we got inside to hear aggravated shouting between Gobber and the other Vikings. Walking in through one of the side doors, I noticed my father looking clearly annoyed and holding the bridge of his nose. “Dad, it’s a Skrill.” Hiccup made the announcement before I could, prompting me to punch him in the arm and give him a pout. “A Skrill? Oh that’s not good. Not good at all.” He growled, pacing the floor along the tables as most of the Vikings gathered whispered among themselves. “If the Berserkers were digging the Skrill out of the ice, it must mean they’re going to try and train it.” Stoick relayed exactly what I had been thinking grimly to the vast hall of Vikings. The whispers turned into murmurs of worry, thinking about just what a menace like Dagur could do with a Skrill to Berk.
“And if I know anything about the Berserkers, anything about Dagur for that matter, that will not be a good thing.” Hiccup stared at the drawing of the Skrill in the book of dragons, “I mean I thought that was obvious-” I began but the look i got from my father and his words that interrupted me for some reason just… filled me up with rage. “Y/N please.” I took a deep breath, but that was enough, “Alright. Okay!” I stormed out of the great hall Bloodborne following me curiously and clearly concerned as he let out a warble and ran behind me. I stopped groaning. “What do you say we go for a little fly bud?”
