My girlfriend's best friend

Gemini has been with his girlfriend since their last year of high school. Layla, she was an absolute sweetheart and had so many great qualities about her. She was smart, funny, and absolutely gorgeous. They've been together for almost three years now and haven't had a single argument in the entirety of their relationship. They just gel together seamlessly.

Now Layla has been talking about her best friend who is moving back to Thailand after spending time abroad, and she was so excited for Gemini to meet him.

"You will absolutely adore him. He's the best person on this planet." Layla had told him.

Now Gemini trusted his girlfriend wholeheartedly, but it was only natural to feel uneasy if your girlfriend described another guy as the best person on the planet, right? So Gemini was feeling uneasy but agreed to meet up with this guy for Layla's sake, and he hoped that perhaps they could get along.

When Gemini met the guy with Layla at a brunch date, his first thought was that the guy had a pretty smile. They got acquintainted with each other, and Gemini got to know that the guy named Fourth was a uni student just like them, studying accounting and business studies. He also got to know that the guy was only a couple of months younger than him, and him and Layla were childhood friends.

Fourth was undoubtedly kind, sweet, and really funny. His sense of humour matched perfectly with his, and he was easily amused. He found the silly jokes that Layla sometimes didn't get funny, and Gemini could understand now why Layla was so fond of the guy. He was also a big football fan and liked the same soccer club as Gemini. So, really, Gemini couldn't do anything to hate about the guy. Overall, he had a great time. Fourth was so nice that he insisted on paying the bill and said that next time they all meet up, Gemini could pay.

"What's your IG, by the way? We can follow each other and keep in touch." Fourth had asked him, and from that day onwards, they followed each other.

They didn't interact at first until Gemini posted something on his IG story. It was a band if he remembered correctly, and Fourth replied to it, and the conversation went on. It turned out they also had more or less the same taste in music. Fourth, liked more Thai artists that he recommended to Gemini, and Gemini recommended more international artists he thought Fourth would enjoy.

From that day they interacted more, Fourth would send him IG reels he thought to be funny or Gemini could relate to and Gemini would do the same and from that alone they would end up talking for almost hours. Then, one day, Gemini hit Fourth up just to check up on him. He remembers this day because he had asked Fourth what he was doing, and Fourth had sent him a selfie of himself in the library. Fourth had looked so cute with that blue hoodie that had a cat on it.

They sort of became friends, or at least Gemini would like to believe they've become friends. Gemini realised that ever since he had become friends with Fourth, he didn't become uneasy or annoyed when Layla would talk about it. He actually enjoyed it because it was like getting to know more about a friend.

They haven't met each other since that day with Layla, but they've gotten comfortable to the point where they call each other, especially when playing overwatch, and a few times, they've video called each other. Layla still met up with Fourth almost every day since they were in the same faculty, so he would get updates about how Fourth was doing as if they didn't text each other every day.

"I heard you got an A+ on your surprise quiz." Gemini had said as he spoke with Fourth over the phone. They were busy playing Overwatch.

"It wasn't really a surprise. Prof gave hints, and I studied for it." Fourth had replied.

"It was a surprise for Layla. She's so bummed that she got a B+." Gemini had said.

"I told her she did great. She needs to stop worrying that it doesn't even count that much to our final grade." Fourth had replied.
