Quiet mind

Atom and Kongthap have been together for the 3 years now, and it has been incredible. They were both now in their 2nd year of varsity, with Kongthap studying veterinary medicine and Atom studying culinary arts. They've decided to rent an apartment together not far from both their respective universities. Although Atom didn't get in the same university as Kongthap, which was a shame because they would've been the cutest varsity couple. Atom did manage to enrol in a course at the college of culinary arts in Bangkok, which was perfect because it meant they didn't have to be separated like Mudmee and Half.

For the past 3 years, Atom has grown up so much as a person, and he would like to think that Kongthap was responsible for that. Kongthap always supported him and encouraged him to never once make him feel stupid or incapable. Kongthap was infinitely patient with him and never once looked down on him. Kongthap made him want to be a better person, which made him want to reach his full potential.

Kongthap always assured him that he was good. He was perfect just for him, but Atom strived to be more than that. He wanted to be a better version of himself, and not just for Kongthap but for himself too. If he could see himself as someone who was worth Kongthap's love and adoration, then he could truly be that person. And so far, Atom would like to believe that he had succeeded.

Kongthap was absolutely perfect. Atom wasn't exaggerating even though he was known for exaggerating, but he was this time. Anyone who has ever met Kongthap would agree with him. Kongthap was the prettiest person he had ever met, and that said a lot because Atom met Mudmee and Mudmee was a real beauty. Kongthap was kind and caring, and he loved animals, including dogs, even though Atom strongly believed that dogs are spawns of the devil.

Kongthap was also so neat. He would tidy up around their apartment without any complaint, and he did the laundry every single time, even if it was Atom's turn to do it. He even folded their clothes in a colour coordinated way. It was so dorky but so cool. Kongthap would also read to him when Atom was too tired to open his eyes to watch anything on TV but not tired enough to completely fall asleep.

The best part was that Kongthap was always willing to be Atom's guinae pig when he would be trying new recipes for class or just for the fun of it. And Kongthap was always so genuine in his compliments that it made Atom preen. He loved him so much.

The actual best part was that Kongthap was able to help him relax when a very important exam was coming up. He was able to quiet his mind when he had too many thoughts, and he was able to drive away anxious thoughts when they struck. The way he did it was... well, it wasn't in a way that people who didn't know Kongthap would think. Actually, Atom thinks if he told anyone else about how Kongthap quieted his mind, nobody would believe him.

The point was that Kongthap took really good care of him, and Atom loved him so much. Like now. Atom had a big practical exam coming up, and he was stressed because, of course, he was. He was Atom. He was practically a disaster on two legs, and trouble seemed to naturally gravitate towards him, so he was stressed out. Kongthap had decided to take over cooking duties for him at least until after his practicals because apparently he can't spend all his time hauled up in the kitchen.

"Can I do anything to help you?" Atom asked as he watched his boyfriend wash vegetables and prepare other ingredients to make their dinner.

"No. Just sit down and relax." Kongthap said kindly.

Atom pouted but nodded and sat on one of the couches and took a book to read, not that he was actually going to read it. That's Kongthap's job, but he needed something to do to occupy his hands and mind, probably.

He was unable to sit still for longer than 5 minutes, which was practically torture for him. He started pacing up and down. Kongthap quietly watched him from the kitchen but didn't say anything. He probably knew it was better to ask after dinner.
