"Oh, damn," Izuku muttered, trying to find purchase on the old metal cabinet, but there wasn't any to be found.
"Alien!" one of the girls- currently trying to pull him down so that they could douse him with more paste and glitter- screamed somewhat hysterically.
"Kids," Izuku said, licking his lips nervously as he tried to pull himself up, but the small hands clasped around his high-tops-cladded feet and the fact that he lacked any real upper body strength prevented him from doing that.
"Kota was only kidding," he said, forcing a smile and trying to sound as non-threatening as possible.
"We need more glitter!"
Izuku heard one of them yell as the little nails dug into his skin, trying to yank him back down so that they could dump more paste and glitter on him in an attempt to destroy his powers- the powers that Kota claimed he had.
Man, when he got out of this, he was so going to-
Scream his head off as two large hands cupped his bottom and pushed him up, giving him no choice but to scramble into a sitting position on top of the metal cabinet.
As soon as his butt hit the top of the cabinet, he pulled his legs up, a tad bit concerned that the little monsters hell bent on destroying him would manage to grab hold of his legs and pull him back down.
He pulled his knees up to his chest, scooted back until his back hit the wall and-
Frowned, as he looked down at the face of the obscenely handsome man, who, up until two days ago, he'd considered risking becoming a criminal in order to wipe the smug grin that the man was currently flashing him off his face, and wondered what he was doing there.
"So, here's what I'm thinking," Katsuki lazily began, that smug grin of his becoming increasingly sexier with every syllable that left his mouth and distracting Izuku a bit from what he was saying, "I'll pick you up at seven, we'll grab a bite to eat and then catch a movie afterwards."
He blinked, sure that he'd misheard Katsuki. The man couldn't have possibly just asked him out on a date.
"Umm, I'm sorry, what?" he asked, shifting so that he could glance down and immediately regretting it when he saw how high off the floor he was. He moved back until his back was once again touching the wall.
That killer smile of Katsuki became knowing as he said, "I'd like to take you out tonight."
"I see," Izuku said, simply to say something while his mind processed what Katsuki had said and when it did, he said, "Oh, um, no thanks," and moved to climb off the cabinet only to remember that he was afraid of heights and that there was currently an army of six and seven year olds waiting to attack him.
"Why not?" Katsuki asked, leaning back against the desk, looking unfazed by his rejection.
Instead of answering Katsuki, he asked, "Do you think you could help me down?"
"No," Katsuki said, his lips twitching with amusement as he studied him.
"No?" Izuku repeated, swallowing back a curse when he risked another peek over the edge, only to find a small group of angry looking six and seven year olds glaring up at him, armed with paste and bowls of glitter.
"Umm, why not?" he asked, moving back a safe distance from the edge and those rather frightening children.
"Why won't you go out with me?" Katsuki returned calmly.
Because Izuku wasn't looking for another friend, another guy to look at him like a kid brother, and he sure as hell didn't want to go through the motions of a date only to get rejected at the end with a barely-there kiss on the cheek and a few complimentary words about how sweet he was.
He especially didn't want to go through that with this spiky-haired, ash blonde man.
He knew that it was foolish, but after falling asleep in Katsuki's arms the other night, he couldn't stomach the idea of the man looking down at him like he was the sweet baby brother that he'd never had.
There was just something about himself, he didn't know if it was his size, his looks, his freckles, the way he smiled or spoke, but something about him made men view him as nothing more than a kid brother.
He didn't want Katsuki to see him like that, not when it meant that he'd start viewing the other night with horror.
Katsuki had held him all night, caressed his stomach, constantly kissed his nape and had refused to let him go.
If he went out with him, the illusion that a handsome man wanted him would be ruined.
Within minutes of the date, Katsuki would start looking at him funny and start to feel uncomfortable, but he wouldn't know why until the end of the date when he walked him to the door and stared down into his eyes.
Then the realization would hit Katsuki and that would end any fantasy that an incredibly handsome man wanted him.
"I can see that I'm going to have to do this another way," Katsuki murmured and before Izuku could ask him what he was talking about, the man was back infront of the cabinet and pulling him off.
"What are you doing? Let me go!" he said rather hysterically as Katsuki pulled him down into his arms, forcing him to wrap his arms around the man's neck in a desperate attempt to stay there when small hands made a grab for him.
"Anything you want, Tink," Katsuki said as he walked over to the checkout desk and plopped him down on the high counter right next to Kota who was-
"Is that my lunch?" he asked frowning as Kota popped what looked like the rest of his double fudge, butter cream frosting brownie, in his mouth with a shrug.
Katsuki sighed, as he gently cupped Izuku's chin with a thumb and index finger and forced him to look back at him. "I'm going to need you to focus here, Tink."
"That's not my name," Izuku murmured absently as he peered past Katsuki and what he saw had him swallowing nervously and trying to shift back on the counter, but Katsuki wasn't having that.
"Have dinner with me tonight," Katsuki said, loosely wrapping his arms around Izuku's hips as the man stepped closer, forcing him to spread his legs to accommodate the move.
"I can't," he said, gasping in horror when tiny hands suddenly closed around his ankles and tried to drag him away.
Katsuki's large frame was the only thing that kept him from being dragged to the ground and smothered in paste and glitter. That triumphant look in Katsuki's crimson eyes let him know that he knew it.
"No?" Katsuki said, cocking a brow as he moved to step back.
"Get him!" one of the normally docile children screamed excitedly as Izuku found himself being pulled to the edge of the counter.
