"Kacchan?"
"I need to make a call," the man said, picking his phone up from the bureau as he made his way towards the door. "I'm going to be a while."
"That's okay," Izuku said around a yawn as he laid back down on the bed and snuggled back beneath the covers, more than happy to have an excuse to get in a few more minutes of sleep, before he was forced to face a long day of standing in lines at one of the parks.
"I'll be back as soon as I can," Katsuki promised just as Izuku started to drift off.

Nine hours later...
"Green or red," Izuku contemplated out loud to the empty hotel room as he tried to decide between the two insanely expensive t-shirts that he'd bought from the hotel store.
Sighing, he shot another glance at the alarm clock bolted to the nightstand and once again couldn't help but wonder what kind of phone call took nine hours.
When he woke up to discover that he'd managed to sleep for three whole hours, he'd been admittedly surprised.
When he'd managed to get in the shower and get dressed, he'd become a little concerned and now, he was becoming a little pissed for good reason.
Because apparently, Katsuki had ditched his ass again this morning, so that he could go out without him.
Not that he would begrudge the man some time alone with his family if that's what he wanted. He would absolutely understand if Katsuki wanted to spend time alone with his family.
In fact, he'd encouraged him to spend sometime alone with his family more than once.
But, Katsuki wasn't doing that.
Apparently last night, he'd bruised Katsuki's ego, but instead of admitting that, the man had given him some piss poor excuse that he had something to do and left him stranded with his family at the reptile farm.
Izuku had been pissed, but he'd been willing to give Katsuki the benefit of the doubt, figuring that the man needed some time to himself.
When Katsuki wasn't at the hotel when they got back, answered his calls, returned his texts, or even returned to the hotel until after two in the morning, exhausted and distracted, Izuku had decided that perhaps they should have a talk in the morning.
Katsuki had apparently decided that wasn't necessary.
Now as he sat there on the bed in the room that he'd decided to rent, after he'd found out from Ojiro- who'd been buying Advil, ice packs and an insane amount of snacks from the hotel store, where he'd run into him two hours ago- that Katsuki had ditched the family to go out on his own, Izuku was counting down the hours until he had to leave for the airport in the morning.
It was over.
Of course, Katsuki probably didn't know that he'd dumped his lying ass yet.
But, that was okay because the man would know soon enough.
Izuku had left him a note in his room along with an IOU note, promising to pay him back for the airline ticket as well as one for his father for the credit card he'd taken upon himself to pay off.
He'd also called Ochaco and informed her that he was moving out effective immediately.
When Tenya grabbed the phone away from his wife and tried to argue with him, he'd informed him that he was more than happy to pay whatever it took to break his lease.
When Tenya asked why he needed to break his lease and he informed him that his cousin was a lying bastard whose ego couldn't handle it when a person refused to marry him, the man sighed heavily and wished him luck.
Once that was done, he'd made a phone call that he'd been putting off for quite sometime.
His father had been understanding, more than understanding actually and had even offered to come down to Mecresh to get him and bring him home.
He promised his old man that he was fine right now, but he needed a place to crash while he paid Dr. Bakugo back and got his life back together.
He'd also called Shindo and asked him if he could get a couple of the guys together and move his stuff to his dad's house.
After promising to kick Katsuki's ass and then promptly ignoring him when he told him that he didn't want Katsuki's ass kicked, Shindo asked him the one thing that almost broke him.
He asked him if he was in love with Katsuki and he lied, since the last thing that he needed was Shindo worrying about him.
His best friend had seen enough of his humiliation over the past year and he didn't need to see anymore of it now.
