Rather than focusing on beauty, Shi Tingyu was more interested in the other benefit of the spring water—its healing properties.

In the future, when hospitals are overcrowded, good health will be one of the essential conditions for a high-quality life. She planned to use it herself and arrange for her parents to have it as well. If there body was well-regulated, they could withstand the hardships of being sent down.

The spring water tasted like sweet mountain spring water with a slight warmth, leaving a comforting sensation throughout her body. However, despite waiting and hoping for some signs of detoxification, such as stomach pain or impurities expelling from her pores, she experienced none of these.

After her bath, she waited for more than two hours but still felt fine before finally going to sleep.

Morning sunlight streamed in perfectly, and Shi Tingyu's first action upon waking was to check herself for any discoloration or grime. Seeing nothing unusual, she sighed in relief.

She had been so worried about waking up as a gray, muddy figure that it felt like a dream come true to be just fine.

After dressing, she went to the bathroom for a thorough and refreshing session. Emerging from the bathroom, she felt rejuvenated.

She looked in the mirror and saw a significant improvement in her complexion. The stress from the recent relocation and the impending assignment had taken a toll on her sleep quality. Even the most beautiful person would struggle with fatigue.

Now, she looked like a flower in bloom, vibrant and full of energy.

Shi Tingyu's parents noticed the change and commented, "It seems like you had a good rest last night. Your complexion is much better."

Shi Tingyu smiled. "Now that I'm married, you can relax. Lu Weiguo is still on leave. Once we've cleaned up the family quarters, you can come over, and I'll cook a nice meal for you so you can also get some good rest."

Her parents were agreeable, but her mother offered, "How about I take leave and help you with cleaning the house?"

"No need, Mom." Shi Tingyu quickly stopped her mother's heartfelt offer. "I checked the house yesterday; it's quite clean. We just need to tidy up the bedrooms."

After confirming that her mother's help was not needed, Shi Tingyu's mother reluctantly accepted.

However, before leaving, she couldn't help but tease Shi Tingyu. "Since you're married to Lu Weiguo, you should stop calling him by his full name. It sounds like you're about to get into a fight."

Shi Tingyu felt a bit awkward. Although she was married, she hadn't yet fully adapted to living together, and there was still a sense of unfamiliarity.

Her father, while not entirely satisfied with Lu Weiguo's appearance, was sincerely grateful for his courage in marrying into their family. It took a lot of bravery, as evidenced by the previous experience with Xiaohan's former comrade.

Xiaohan's situation was somewhat unfortunate. Rumor had it that his father was a brigade commander in their military region, and they hadn't managed to reconcile.

Xiaohan himself was feeling quite troubled.

After returning to the camp, Shen Zhiming also came back. His first action was to find Xiaohan. Despite being roommates, Shen Zhiming loitered outside for half an hour. If not for the unmistakable sound of his footsteps, Xiaohan might have ignored him.

When Xiaohan opened the dormitory door, Shen Zhiming looked somewhat embarrassed, with a hint of evasiveness in his gaze.

Xiaohan's face remained cold as he watched Shen Zhiming.

Eventually, Shen Zhiming spoke up. "Old Shi, I'm sorry."

Xiaohan stepped aside to let him in.

Shen Zhiming's eyes brightened, thinking that perhaps Xiaohan had forgiven him.

However, he noticed things were different. Previously, when Xiaohan brought food from home, he would share it with Shen Zhiming, but now he showed no inclination to do so. Xiaohan's demeanor was also less friendly.

Xiaohan had already thought things through on the way. He didn't blame Shen Zhiming for choosing his family, but he didn't believe that Shen Zhiming couldn't have called him while he was confined at home. Even if it was just to inform him that he couldn't attend the blind date, it would have been better than nothing.

In their unit, as partners, they needed to maintain harmony for the sake of their team. Therefore, Xiaohan now considered Shen Zhiming an ordinary comrade.

Brigadier Shen Jun originally worried that Xiaohan would confront his son upon returning, but to his relief, nothing of the sort happened.

He quietly sighed in relief, thinking that Xiaohan still had some understanding.

Only Shen Zhiming knew the true extent of the rift between them. He felt at fault and didn't dare to demand forgiveness. He was grateful just to maintain their current level of interaction.

He had feared they would end up as enemies.

Shi Tingyu was unaware of Xiaohan's situation.

She was being transported by Lu Weiguo on his bicycle to the family quarters. The bike looked fairly new, and the rear seat had a cushioned cover.

People nowadays take good care of their bikes, and some maintain them as if they were brand new even after a year or two.

As she sat on the bike, Shi Tingyu held onto the sides of Lu Weiguo's military uniform. The fit was already quite snug, and with her grasping at the sides, the buttons strained, creating an O-shape that revealed the toned abdominal muscles underneath.

Unfortunately, Shi Tingyu couldn't see them.

Lu Weiguo felt the tightness of his uniform and noticed a draft around his belly button. He looked down at his clothes with an odd expression.

Sensing his sudden stiffening, Shi Tingyu asked, "What's wrong?"

Lu Weiguo stopped the bicycle, balancing it with one foot.

Shi Tingyu's gaze immediately fell on his long leg. It was truly impressive, reaching the ground with ease, while her own legs dangled from the lower seat of the bike.

Shi Tingyu thought to herself, This is quite challenging.

Lu Weiguo hesitated, holding the handlebars with one hand and patting Shi Tingyu's hand with the other.

"Maybe you..."

He was trying to figure out how to ask her to hold his waist in a gentlemanly manner.

"Uh, my buttons might not be very secure."

In the end, he made a roundabout statement.

Shi Tingyu's eyes narrowed in confusion.

Wasn't military uniform quality supposed to be good? There are old military uniforms that last for decades.

As she leaned forward to inspect the buttons, she saw a small section of well-defined muscle between the top and bottom buttons. From her extensive experience with life drawing, it was unmistakably top-notch abs.

Shi Tingyu's face flushed with heat.

It wasn't intentional, but she wondered if Lu Weiguo would have a stomachache from the draft after all.

While drawing models, she had never felt anything, as her focus was on capturing the form, texture, and balance. And those models were not her husband.

With different roles and relationships, her perceptions were naturally different.
