The soldiers in the camp were very united, and if one woman caused collective anger, it would be difficult to manage.

Especially after hearing that her husband had been on the battlefield for eight years.

Judging by this woman's age, her husband shouldn't be too old, and such a young officer likely wouldn't be easy to deal with.

After giving Shi Tingyu a stern glance, Hong Bo ultimately abandoned the idea of handing this woman over to the leadership.

He had risen to his current position with careful consideration.

He wouldn't do anything that would lead to a significant loss over a small gain.

The people sent to search the place didn't find anything that could serve as evidence.

However, a short man came out of Shi Tingyu's parents' room, smiling and subtly tapping his pocket as he walked toward Hong Bo.

Hong Bo's lips twitched before returning to a calm expression.

The others who didn't find anything were irritated by everything they saw.

In the Shi family's room, they damaged the table lamp, the plants on the balcony, the kitchen utensils, and even some chairs.

But none of that mattered because, once they were relocated, the house would be confiscated, and none of the belongings inside would be left to them.

When Lu Weiguo returned, he found the Shi family's front door wide open.

He quickly stepped inside and noticed the chaotic scene.

What had been a cozy home just yesterday now looked like it had been ransacked.

His face grew cold, and the roguish air he usually kept in check immediately surged to full strength.

Hong Bo was startled, feeling as if this man was looking at him like a murderer about to strike.

He glanced at Lu Weiguo's four pockets, feeling increasingly uneasy.

Lu Weiguo focused his gaze on Hong Bo, who seemed to be the leader. "Did you do this?"

Hong Bo couldn't meet his gaze and stammered, "W-What about it? It's inevitable that things get knocked around when searching for evidence."

"Knocked around? The force needed to break a solid wooden chair should be used on the battlefield to defend the country, not wasted here," Lu Weiguo sneered. "Whose subordinates are you? I'll find out soon enough. Let's see how they handle deliberately damaging state property."

Hong Bo stiffened at his words. "Just because you're a soldier doesn't mean you can make baseless accusations. When did we damage state property?"

"Oh?" Lu Weiguo coldly retorted, "So, if my in-laws have no issues, everything here is personal property. Are you trying to settle this privately?"

"Who said they're off the hook?" Hong Bo, now irritated, retorted.

He had received orders from above, and this task couldn't fail.

"If they are found to have issues and need to be taken away, then everything here except my wife's belongings becomes state property. By destroying these items, you've damaged state property. My accusation isn't wrong."

Seeing that Hong Bo and his group were speechless, Lu Weiguo continued sarcastically, "With the way you conduct yourselves, who knows how much you've destroyed? If today's matter isn't clarified, I will report it."
