#13 | MOVE IN AND MAKE UP?

It had been about a month since you and Rin had made the decision to move in together. The whirlwind of finding the perfect apartment, signing the lease, and coordinating the move had kept both of you incredibly busy. Between juggling work and the endless stream of tasks related to the new place, the days had blurred together, leaving little room for anything else. You were both excited and exhausted, the thrill of your new life together balanced by the sheer effort it took to get everything in order.

Finally, the big day had arrived—move-in day. You and Rin had both taken the day off work, knowing that it would be a physically demanding endeavor. The morning had been a frenzy of activity, with boxes being hauled in, furniture being assembled, and the apartment slowly transforming into something that felt like home. By 8 PM, you were both utterly spent. The majority of the furniture was in place, and most of the boxes were unpacked, but a few stragglers still lingered in the living room, waiting for another day when you had more energy to deal with them.

You were sprawled out on the couch, your limbs heavy and your muscles sore. Sweat clung to your skin, making your clothes stick uncomfortably. You groaned as you shifted positions, trying to find a spot that didn't remind you of how tired you were. Rin was equally exhausted, but she seemed to have a little more energy left in her as she moved around the apartment, tidying up the last few things.

"Hey," Rin called out as she slipped on a light jacket and grabbed her keys. "I'm gonna go grocery shopping for food. I'm also picking up some fried chicken. Do you wanna come with me?"

You barely managed to lift your head to look at her. The mere thought of moving was painful, let alone going out into the world again. "No, I physically can't," you groaned, letting your head fall back onto the couch.

Rin chuckled at your dramatic response. "Alright, do you need anything while I'm out?" she asked, already knowing that the answer was likely to be no.

"No, thank you," you replied, too tired to even think about what you might need. All you wanted was to sink into the couch and forget about the world for a while.

"Okay, I'll be back soon," Rin said as she headed out the door. The sound of it closing behind her was oddly soothing, a reminder that you were finally in your own space, a place where you could truly relax.

For a few minutes, you just lay there, basking in the silence and the sense of accomplishment that came with finally moving in. But soon, the urge to check your phone became too strong to resist. You reached for it and began scrolling through your notifications, mindlessly catching up on messages and social media updates. It was a mind-numbing distraction, and for a little while, it worked.

That was until your phone buzzed with an incoming call. The name on the screen made your heart skip a beat—Kenma Kozume. The guy you hadn't spoken to in nearly two months. The guy you'd been avoiding ever since that kiss. The kiss that had left you spiraling for weeks, unsure of what it meant or what you were supposed to do about it.

You stared at the screen, your mind racing. Normally, you would've picked up without hesitation, but this was different. This was Kenma. The person who had unintentionally become the center of your most confusing thoughts. You bit your lip, contemplating whether or not to answer. It was like the weight of those two months pressed down on you, making it difficult to breathe.

Before you could overthink it any further, you swiped to answer, your voice coming out quieter than you intended. "Hello?"

"Um, hi Y/n," Kenma's voice came through the speaker, soft and uncertain. There was a pause, and you could almost picture him, nervously running a hand through his hair. "Can we meet up real quick? I think we need to talk."
