#38 | PARTY ENCOUNTERS
Reluctantly agreeing to attend a party with Rin wasn't exactly on your weekend agenda, but here you were, standing in her room as she ruthlessly sifted through her wardrobe. Clothes flew onto the bed in every color and fabric imaginable.
"Rin, I have my own clothes. Why are you giving me yours?" you whined, sinking into her plush bedding, which was rapidly becoming a graveyard of rejected outfits.
"Because your clothes are boring," Rin shot back without missing a beat. She held up a shimmering silver skirt, squinted at it, and threw it onto the floor. Her honey-toned skin glowed under the soft light of her vanity as she worked, her long black hair swaying with every determined movement. "I can't believe you're actually going to a party and think I'd let you show up in your team coordinator chic outfit. No, babes. Tonight, you're going to look like a goddess."
You groaned and flopped backward onto the bed, watching as she settled on a sleek black dress with long sleeves and a daringly short hemline. It wasn't your style, but there was no way Rin would let you leave in anything less.
"I feel like a doll," you muttered as Rin turned her attention to your face, expertly applying foundation.
"Correction," she said, her voice teasing but firm, "you're going to be a doll who turns heads." She leaned in, her jasmine perfume enveloping you as she brushed eyeshadow across your lids.
After an hour of relentless effort, you finally stood in front of the mirror. The transformation was startling. The dress clung to your figure in all the right ways, paired with black boots that gave you an air of effortless confidence. Your makeup was bold but elegant—smoky eyes and a deep red lip that Rin insisted you'd thank her for later.
Rin, meanwhile, had outdone herself. She wore a deep red satin dress with a daring thigh-high slit and a plunging neckline that balanced just on the edge of provocative. Her hair was swept into loose waves, and her strappy black heels clicked against the floor as she spun to grab her purse.
"Ready to party?" she asked, her grin infectious.
"Not really, but let's get this over with," you muttered, trailing after her.
The party was already in full swing by the time you arrived. The music thudded through the floor, a deep bass that seemed to resonate in your chest. The air smelled of a mix of sweat, perfume, and alcohol, and clusters of people filled every available space, laughing, dancing, and shouting to be heard over the music.
Rin immediately dove into the crowd, dragging you behind her as she waved and greeted friends. Her energy was magnetic, and people gravitated toward her, their smiles widening as they exchanged hugs and pleasantries.
"Y/n! Rin!" a familiar voice called out, and you turned to see Yachi waving enthusiastically. She stood with Hinata, who was already holding two drinks and gesturing animatedly as he spoke.
"Yachi! Shou!" Rin exclaimed, pulling you toward them.
Yachi beamed as you approached, her cheeks flushed from the warmth of the room. "You two look amazing!"
"Right? I told Y/n this dress would be perfect for her," Rin said smugly, nudging you playfully.
Hinata grinned, his bright eyes darting between you and Rin. "You both look awesome! Rin, that dress is fire."
"Aw, thanks, Shouyou," Rin said, her voice softening as she gave him a teasing nudge. He leaned into her touch, his expression momentarily soft as they exchanged a private laugh.
