#24 | BIG DAY

The day had finally arrived. Your nerves were buzzing, thoughts racing through your head. Will today go okay? This wasn't just any day—it was the day you'd show the world another side of yourself. And to top it off, you'd be spending it at Kenma's place, a decision that made you feel equally excited and apprehensive.

After getting dressed and triple-checking your look in the mirror, you took a cab to Kenma's high-end apartment building. The towering glass structure seemed to shine with its own intimidating aura, and you couldn't shake the nervousness growing in your chest as you rode the elevator to his floor. Was this a good idea?

The door opened, and there he was, standing in his doorway with his hair still damp from a recent shower. Dressed in a black hoodie with the familiar 'Kodzuken' logo and a pair of grey sweatpants, Kenma looked effortlessly good, almost annoyingly so.

"Hey," he greeted, his voice low and casual, with a hint of huskiness. "Did you wait long?"

You laughed off the tension in your chest. "No, I just got here." You stepped inside, and as you took off your coat, you noticed the matching black hoodies. "Guess we had the same idea today," you said with a small laugh.

He glanced down, smiling a little. "Yeah, guess so."

An awkward silence followed, thick with an unspoken tension. Finally, Kenma spoke up. "Wanna just chill for a bit? We've got some time before we need to set up."

"Yeah, that'd be good." You sighed in relief, settling onto the couch. You felt better almost instantly, the atmosphere easing as you both settled into conversation, talking about everything from upcoming games to random stories from your streaming careers.

At some point, you started talking about your face reveal plans. Just the mention of it made you feel the nerves kick in again.

Kenma raised an eyebrow, catching on. "You nervous?"

"A little," you admitted, sinking further into the couch. "I mean...what if people don't like me?"

Kenma shook his head, his expression softening. "Trust me," he said firmly. "They'll like you. Just be yourself. That's why they're here in the first place."

His words, though simple, held a weight that seemed to settle your nerves. You glanced at him, offering a grateful smile. "Thanks, I...needed to hear that."

He just nodded, his gaze lingering on you for a moment longer than usual. "You've got nothing to worry about. Just remember that."

The two of you continued to talk, falling into an easy rhythm. Kenma's presence was so calming; he had a way of making everything feel like it would turn out fine. You could sit there forever, talking about anything and everything.

But then Kenma shifted to stretch, and his hoodie lifted just a bit, exposing a sliver of skin above his waistband. You averted your gaze quickly, heat creeping up your face. Did he always have to look this effortlessly attractive?

After a while, Kenma stood up, stretching again as he glanced at the clock. "Ready to set up?"

You followed him to his streaming setup, a sleek corner of the apartment where everything was neatly arranged, dual monitors glowing, and his high-end equipment waiting for action. As he adjusted settings, you stood nearby, trying to ignore the flutter in your chest.

Kenma noticed you hovering, raising an eyebrow. "Nervous again?"

"Maybe a bit," you admitted with a laugh.

"Just remember, I'll be here," he said quietly. He reached over, giving your hand a reassuring squeeze, his thumb brushing over your knuckles. "If it ever feels like too much, just look over."

His gaze held yours, steady and reassuring. That small gesture, that simple squeeze of your hand, seemed to ground you more than anything else. You nodded, a soft smile playing on your lips. "Thanks, Kenma. I don't know what I'd do without you."

He looked at you for a long moment before releasing your hand, offering a soft smile of his own. "Hey, anytime."

For a brief, lingering moment, it was just the two of you, standing in his room, an unspoken understanding hanging between you. And you knew, no matter what came next, you'd always have him by your side.
