"Thank you for the meal"
Ningyi and Jiaxu sat down together as they started eating. Jiaxu knew that the dinner would taste good when he saw how skillfully she cooked and the moment the food touched his tastebuds, he was taken to another dimension.
"Xiao-Yi, were you a chef before applying to the company? The food is so good!"
Ningyi blushed at his comment and muttered a small thank you as happiness bloomed inside her heart while she placed the meat in his bowl and refilled the soup.
"Now I understand why you always bring home-cooked meal for lunch"
She laughed at how he was enjoying the dishes she made "Maybe I can make an extra for you if you want"
Jiaxu immediately nodded like a little puppy giving his best puppy eyes to get something that he wants. Ningyi wanted to pinch his cute puffed up cheeks and shower him with kisses. She never imagined that she would be able to witness such a side of her boss but well, she did.
"Alright"
The two talked about many topics as they eat their dinner together , catching up as if they were old friends. Ningyi noticed something about Jiaxu when they had their dinner together and that is ─── his gentleness.
She knows that he is a gentle person but never this gentle. No wonder he is so popular wherever he goes.
As they were done with their dinner, they both cleaned up the utensils and ended the small dinner together with a bowl of fresh strawberries that Ningyi grew herself at the small garden she made in the backyard.
They sat together at the small lawn where two chairs and a coffee table was placed with an empty bowl that was filled with strawberries earlier.
"So, you're going for the wedding?"
Ningyi almost forgot what happened earlier because of the time she spent with Jaixu and it was like a sudden reality check for her. She let out a small sigh and nodded her head.
"I don't want him to think that I am not over him so I have to attend the wedding and give some red envelope"
Jaixu nodded and stood up "Message me the date, we can go together"
