NINGYI thought that they would be going shopping in the mall and checking out various stores but never did she imagine coming to a top-rated store where each suit piece cost her entire monthly salary.
From the moment she entered the store, the staffs served her tea and light snacks. The hospitality made her feel overwhelmed yet she couldn't complain anything as Jiaxu had a small talk with the owner who seemed to be close with Jiaxu.
Jiaxu made his way towards Ningyi and sat on the couch beside her and took a small sip of his coffee. "They'll be bringing out some suits that is about my size so you can choose any from it"
She nodded and barely said anything as she felt a little out of place because she was dressed in a plain skirt with a cardigan and a simple sandals that matched her little outfits but it was somehow looking cheap in comparison to the clothes that were inside the store under all those bright lights where the price tag could make her faint.
"Are you sure you'll be getting many suits?"
Ningyi didn't underestimate the man beside her because she knows he was rich and those suits were nothing but she couldn't help but ask.
Jiaxu's brows raised a little as he leaned a little closer and a smirk playing around at the corner of his lips "Are you worried that I might not be able to pay it?"
Now it was her turn to be flabbergasted and quickly denied
"No Boss Duan ─── I didn't mean that ! What I mean is ... Uh .. like .. do you really need those? I mean ───"
At the end, Ningyi gave up and just sip on her coffee while Jiaxu smirked and patt her head. The smug look on his face was a little annoying that she wanted to smack off but it matches his handsome face. God's favourite.
The staffs then brought out several suits and the two stood up as Ningyi reset her mind and focused on choosing the suit. She took one after another and checked the colour as well as the fabric before picking carefully and handing it over to Jiaxu so that he could try on.
As for the Duan guy, he quietly allowed the girl to pick for him and when he got enough, he went to the changing room and changed into the suits one after another.
When Jiaxu comes out of the changing room with different suits, Ningyi was the best supporter. Her hilarious comments and way of expressing Jiaxu's beauty, the compliments made the staffs who were walking around break into laughter while the guy only laughed along and exaggerated his actions earning extra cheer from Ningyi.
The staffs felt like they were watching a rom-com movie with Jiaxu and Ningyi as the main cast with best dynamic. They've seen various rich couples coming and trying their outfits but it was their first time to see a couple who were cheerful and so down-to-earth as they casually enjoy their little moments together which warmed their hearts.
If Ningyi knew what the staff were thinking, she'd be a blushing mess right now and not throw rainbow farts more. As Jiaxu was still changing inside, she stood up and decided to explore the store with a staff following her.
"Miss, would you like to check out the women section? There are some outfits that will look good on you"
"Ah? It's alright"
But the staff insisted on and saying that she should at least take a look so, Ningyi ended up following her. They came to the women section where beautiful clothes were displayed by the mannequin that screamed 'money'
She couldn't help but gasp at the beautiful dresses that were around and while she was admiring the dresses, the staff disappeared for a few seconds before coming back with a dress in her hand
"Miss, this is a dress that matched Boss Duan's suit earlier. It actually came as a couple outfit but we didn't show it to him since we thought he'd be alone but since you're here, why don't you try it out?"
Ningyi's touched the dark blue dress which had a sweetheart neckline , giving off a velvet look. She could imagine wearing this with a pearl necklace and a pearl matching earrings.
Her intrusive thoughts told her to buy it secretly and keep it with her but she knew that there will be no occasion where she would wear such dresses.
"It's so beautiful but ─── "
"Xiao-Yi?"
It was Jiaxu. He walked up to them and his attention went to the dress on the staff's hand. "You want anything?"
"No ─── "
"Boss Duan, I was asking Miss Lan to try on the dress which matches the dark blue suit you brought earlier. It actually came for couples but since we thought you'd come alone, we didn't bring this out but since Miss Lan is here, I wanted her to try on"
Jiaxu looked at the dress and back to Ningyi who seemed flustered "Go ahead and try on. It will look good on you"
"It's alright Bo ─── "
"Go ahead and try, Xiao-Yi"
Ningyi felt a little excited when she slipped in the dark blue dress as it hugged her curves and the length was perfect for her, it gave off the evening gown look but looking elegant and even made her looks stand out more. The staffs who was inside to help her change couldn't control herself anymore and shower her with compliments.
She slowly walked out of the changing room and saw Jiaxu sitting comfortably on the couch while going through the magazines. Hearing some movement, he looked up and his breath hitched.
He slowly approached Ningyi but his gaze never left her. He looked mesmerized.
Jiaxu knew that Ningyi is pretty and have seen her only in office work dresses but never in occasional fancy outfits which was new to him and especially the blue colour looked magnificent on her.
"You look so beautiful in it, Xiao-Yi"
"Thank.. You..."
He smiled with satisfaction and turned towards the staff "Pack up this dress for me and is there any other more matching outfits? Please let her try on"
