EVERYTHING was already quite as it was almost midnight. Everyone were already asleep except Jiaxu and Ningyi who were in the room with their computers on, putting their glasses and typing from time to time while Ningyi shifted from the laptop to her ipad.
The two were quiet and tried to keep their voice as low as possible in order to not disturb anyone in the house. They didn't have any work tomorrow so they decided to pull up all night and work together since the conference will be starting off tomorrow evening and they still haven't finished with the final presentation.
Both of them sat down on the carpet down together with papers scattered around with some snacks and juice can around. Ningyi was doing the last sequence of the animation but since she's been sitting and bending for too long, her back started hurting so she moved closer to Jiaxu's bed frame and leaned on it as she continued with her work, from time to time grabbing the chips to eat.
Jiaxu kept himself with his presentation and preparing some speech but his eyes often wandered around the girl unknowingly. He could see her little puffy eyes and scrunching her nose from time to time and massaging her forehead which he could guess that she had a little headache.
"Xiao-Yi? Are you having headache?"
"Um...it hurts a little"
Jiaxu checked the time on his phone and stretched out himself "You go ahead and rest for today. I'll finish up the rest"
Ningyi immediately denied it and said, "Boss, you have a lot to cover up and if you help me with my work ──── you won't get a wink of sleep anymore"
She then chugged down the strawberry-milk and continued with her work acting like Jiaxu's word didn't have any effect on her. This little action makes the older guy laugh and continue with his work, trying to finish as soon as possible.
The two were in sync as they were working together. It was already 2 am when they finally completed their work and let out a huge sigh of relief.
