AUTHOR'S POV

The air in the hospital room was thick with tension, a suffocating blanket of worry and despair that settled over everyone present. Abhimaan sat at the head of the long row of chairs, his posture rigid, his eyes cold. Rajendra sat next to him, his hands clenched into fists, trying to keep his emotions in check. Aayansh, Anjana, Shruti, Vivaan, Diksha, Arjun, and Vijay were scattered throughout the room, each lost in their own thoughts, their faces etched with concern. Vijay's wife lay in another part of the hospital, recovering from a car accident, adding another layer of stress to the already unbearable situation.

The waiting felt endless, each passing second stretching into eternity as they anxiously anticipated any news about Abhilasha's condition. The only sounds were the distant beeping of hospital machines and the occasional shuffle of feet as someone adjusted in their seat. The weight of unspoken fears hung heavily in the air, pressing down on each of them like a vice.

Vijay, who had been disowned years ago, sat slightly apart from the rest, his presence a reminder of old wounds that had never fully healed. He had returned to see his mother, summoned by Aparajita's promise, but the tension between him and the family was palpable. His face was a mask of stoicism, though the worry for his mother was clear in his eyes.

Suddenly, the door to the room creaked open, and John, the head of security, entered. The room collectively stiffened, all eyes turning to him. His face was grim, his eyes shadowed with the weight of the news he carried.

"Boss," John said, his voice low and urgent as he addressed Abhimaan.

Abhimaan's eyes narrowed, a cold fury already simmering beneath his calm exterior. "What is it, John? Speak."

John hesitated for a moment, as if gathering the strength to say what he knew would ignite a storm. "Boss, there is something... something you need to know."

The room seemed to hold its breath as John continued, "This is the same poison... the same poison that was given to your grandfather."

Abhimaan's eyes widened ever so slightly, the name slipping from his lips like a curse. "Aparajita..."

Gasps echoed around the room. Rajendra looked at Abhimaan in shock, unable to comprehend what he had just heard. Anjana and Shruti exchanged horrified glances, while Vivaan stood frozen, disbelief written across his face. Diksha and Arjun were too stunned to react, their minds struggling to process the connection between the past and the present.

Vijay’s expression hardened, his past grievances momentarily forgotten in the face of this revelation. The same poison that had once targeted his father was now used against his mother. The room was heavy with the weight of realization, the pieces of a dark puzzle falling into place.

For Abhimaan, it was clear—there was only one person who could be responsible. Only one person who had ever dared to use that particular poison. His voice was like ice as he spoke, a deep anger bubbling beneath the surface. "The only criminal here is Aparajita."

Before anyone could respond, the door was flung open again, this time with more force. Reema stormed in, her eyes blazing with fury, with Niharika close behind her. The anger in Reema’s eyes was palpable, almost as if it could scorch the very air around her.

"What did you say?!" Reema’s voice was shrill with rage. "Oh God, she killed my father and now she wants to kill my mother too! Now what do you have to say? Huh?"

She turned to face the room, her voice rising as she gestured wildly. "I told you! I told you all that Aparajita was up to something outside, but none of you believed me! You didn’t want to see it! How cunning she is!"
