I was dragged to see haruhi at her place early in the morning, much to my dismay. I was tired, studying anatomy all night for practicing forensic sciences. I was tired, even after three cups of coffee and a bagel.
We stood outside of her apartment building, and tamaki rang the doorbell. "Haru-chan! Please come out to play!" A very tired Ranka opened the door, his facial hair starting to come in. The group didn't recognize him at first though.
"Sorry, we have the wrong apartment-"
"Tamaki, it's ranka." I say, and the group stops walking away.
"Don't act so traumatized cause you're seeing me without my makeup on! Even tranny's get stubble first thing in the morning, which is more than I can say for any of you." He looked at me. "Well, except for y/n. Rough night?" I nod.
"Got dragged out before I could shave." Tamaki tried to laugh it off.
"You're so funny!" He laughed awkwardly. "My dear Ranka-" They did not look happy about seeing him, nor him calling them 'dear', but beside the point. "-I hope this day finds you in excellent health!" He said, offering the gift to them. Ranka punched him in an uppercut, taking the present, laughing happily. Yep, they still don't like him. Ranka stepped on his head, forcing his face down into the floor. "Ranka please, that's my head-" Slammed back into the ground.
"Oh, silly me, I forgot my manners! Please, forgive my appearance. It's so good to see all of you."
"Good to see you too Ranka." I greet.
"Is haru-chan here?"
"I'm afraid not. She's out with the girls today?" Girls? "They picked her up this morning, and you know women, heaven only knows when they'll be back."
"So, she's not home?"
"Well, I guess haruhi is entitled to spend time with her friends from her old middle school once in a while." I guess that makes sense. We started to walk out, wishing Ranka well.
"I can't believe she has friends."
"Oh, come on, they're a great person to be around! It's surprising they don't have more."
"This is why I was against a surprise visit."
"You know, come to think of it, I'm not sure I recognized any of her new friends. But then again, you never can tell, can you? Haruhi always has made friends easily. Just think about it. My little girl, out an about with girls from lobelia academy." We froze.
"Did you say lobelia?" I ask, grabbing Ranka's shoulder gently, while the idiot trio paled and whimpered like dogs. Wait, no, that's an insult to dogs.
"Yes, why?"
Once we explained out history with the school, Ranka looked horrified and let us back in quickly. "Oh! Oh no! What if the Zuka club entices haruhi into doing something scandalous?!
"Entices her?"
"Something scandalous?"
"What?"
"Just suppose she's forced to kiss someone!" Who's gonna tell them? I vote not me.
"Kiss?" Tamaki combusts with a blush, and grabs hold of my boyfriend. I'm less than happy with this.
"If I recall..."
"There was that dance party, where-"
"Huh?" Tamaki tied up the twins before they could say anything, and all I can think is 'smart move.' Ranka is obviously a very protective father to haruhi, and doesn't want anything bad to happen to them. But I think they might be a little overprotective if anything.
