The leaves crunched under the pressure of Riven's boots as he walked through the woods beside him was Oreo, she had grown over the years, her fur had gotten longer, it was beautiful and smooth, but it was a hassle to clean her fur when she gets all muddy when she rolls around in the dirt after it rains.
Oreo suddenly stopped, her ears up. Riven paused his walking, "What is it, O?" He glanced around before he heard the sound of footsteps, soft and small steps.
He grinned to himself before moving to hide behind a tree, Oreo laid down beside him, and soon a young girl appeared, her hair was messy, she was holding a crossbow in her hand, wearing, a light pink shirt with a black vest, with brown cargo pants with dark brown boots with untied shoelaces.
Beside her was a small brown with a bit of white fur pitbull. The girl walked past him, and Riven walked out of his hiding spot, sneaking up behind her, "Boo!"
The girl screamed, spinning around, while her small puppy wagged his small tail in happiness.
Riven laughed, "Dad!" In front of him was his daughter, Mercury, who was now seven years old, almost eight as she claimed, but her birthday was months away.
"Sorry, sorry, "Riven chuckled, "I couldn't resist." He kneeled down in front of her to tie her shoelaces, "You on your own?"
"I am not on my own, I have peanut with me." Mercury replied, petting the puppy, Peanut. "You going to see Uncle Daryl, right?"
"Does your papa know you're here?" Riven questioned, finishing tying Mercury's shoelaces, and he stood up.
"Does Papa know you're here?" Mercury asked, smiling up at him. "No, don't think so."
"Touche." Riven said, making Mercury chuckle. She grabbed his hand in hers,
"Come on, Dad! I want to see Uncle Daryl!" Mercury started to walk, pulling Riven behind her.
Daryl was Mercury's favorite person in the whole world. Once Daryl had heard that he was Mercury's favorite person, he went out and found her a vest that almost matched his, along with a crossbow, that she wasn't allowed to use until she was six.
The second she turned six, she was practicing her crossbow skills every single day, and she once accidentally shot Eugene in the ass, she claimed it was an accident, but Mercury had good aim, she never missed, never.
Mercury had a personality that was half Riven's and half Reagan's. She was stubborn as hell, Smart for her age, brave, kind, she has a good heart,
When she's angry, she doesn't yell or scream. She doesn't throw a taturm. She was simply silent, probably finding a way to get revenge on the person who angered her.
It was usually Dylan, her older brother. Surprisingly, this time, it was Reagan who came back with a kid attached to him. Literally, the poor thing was so scared that he attached himself to Reagan and didn't let him go until he was in the safety of their house.
Dylan was about nine when Reagan found him. He had witnessed his parents getting torn apart in front of him by a herd, and he stayed hidden until he was found.
Riven was the one who helped him with his night terrors since he was familiar with them. The two of them usually stayed up together, Riven was usually drawing something, and Dylan was usually reading, or sometimes it was the other way around.
