Hilltop wasn't what Madi imagined it would be. She's never seen a place like this before. She was never behind walls. It felt safe and comforting. The people were different from her mother's people, but this community wasn't Riven's home. She wondered if his home was just as amazing as Hilltop.

"..I can't believe you were stabbed by a child." Tearing her eyes away from the window, Madi turned to face Reagan and his sister, Melanie. She was only with them at the moment as Riven got his wound checked out by Enid.

Melanie had a large stitched scar running down the side of her face. Reagan glanced at Madi, who smiled at him. "She's..special."

Melanie chuckled, wincing a little as pain erupted from her side. Madi approached them, "How long is Riven gonna take?"

"Not much longer." Reagan replied, hoping that Riven wouldn't take much longer. He was already away from him for a long time. He was getting anxious just being one room away from him.

"So, Madi." Melanie started, glancing at Reagan before looking at Madi. "How did you save Riven anyway?"

Madi stared at Melanie, not knowing if she should tell her or not. She didn't want to tell her that she actually found Riven ready to give up. He had told her that he didn't want to be walkers' dinner, but he was ready to be killed by them.

She saved him because, for a moment, that was her before. But Lydia, her sister, saved her. They didn't really speak about it, but Madi knew what Riven was feeling. She just didn't understand what he was trying to escape from.

He has a husband who loves him and probably let the world burn for him if given the chance. Riven had a brother who cares for him. He has people who love him, so why does he want to die so badly?

"Madi?" Snapping out of her thoughts, she stared at Reagan and Melanie, who looked at her with concern in their eyes.

Madi went to open her mouth to speak, but she closed her mouth as someone ran into the room.

"Papa!" It was a young girl and a slightly older boy, possibly around her age. She watched as they ran over to Reagan, throwing their arms around him.

"Mer, Dylan, what are you two doing here?" Reagan questioned, wrapping his arms around his kids,

"Mercury forced me to be here, I promise you, I tried to stop her." Dylan said, Mercury shook her head at him, rolling her eyes a little as she crossed her arms.

"He's lyin'  he was practically begging Henry to take him to Hilltop." Mercury said, a grin on her face. "Don't worry, Michonne accompanied us."

Madi walked out of the room without anyone noticing her, or so she thought. She walked down the hallway and went into the room where Riven was supposedly at.

She paused by the door as she saw Riven sitting on the edge of the bed with a dog on his lap. "Is this Oreo?" She walked further into the room, sitting down near them.

Riven looked at her, a small smile on his face, "Yeah. You can pet her if you want. She doesn't bite."

Madi reached her hand out, hesitantly petting Oreo's head. She smiled as Oreo leaned into her touch, resting her head on her lap. "Can I ask you something?"

Riven hummed in response. "Why are you so sad if you have people who love you? Kids?" Riven chuckled a little.

"I'm not sad, Madi. It's just the way I am. That's all." Riven told her, "How do you know I have kids anyway?"

Madi deeply frowned, "they're here." Now, Riven would probably just dump her with someone here and forget all about her. "Cause they begged someone named Henry."
