I wonder what I look like in your eyes.

I stood at the edge of the crowded wedding venue, my eyes scanning the room. There was the thick scent of roses and jasmine, the heavy fragrance mingling with people's laughter.

The wedding was held in noon, it was sunny and bright outside. The guests were present smiling and chatting around. I was in my own zone, trying to shake the feeling that something important has been left to say.

What has happened last night was trivial--- at least, it should have been trivial. The misunderstanding, miscommunication and misconception made me provoke Eira, to stir up the thought that has been with me since, Ravi texted.

The memory of that heated argument with Eira was replying in my mind in vivid details, each and every word remained a unresolved frustration between us. The concern on her face when I mentioned Ravi seemed doubtful.

It is supposed to be a day of celebration, it's my sister's wedding, but all I could think was the raged in Eira's eyes when I mentioned her scholarship, her voice had sharpened as she counyered argument. Something about her expressions was uncertain.

Though meddling in her personal affairs didn't feel right, the moment Ravi texted me, I knew this had become my concern. I couldn't quite recall the exact reason Ravi reached out, but it had something to do with Eira's scholarship being revoked, not canceled.

I stood in the midst of the celebration, surrounded by relatives and friends. My gaze settled on my sister, Alia who just walked down the asile with my father. Ishan was already on the stage, I standing at the back, far from all the gathered guests.

The pang of guilt inside me hunted me, for letting my thoughts wander so far from the reason they were all here. This was Alia's day, her moment and I needed to be present for her. I tried pushing aside whatever was lingering resentment I felt about eira and focus on Alia.

But as much as I tried to redirect my thoughts, I couldn't completely vanish it away from my mind. I caught sight Eira entering the venue again, her hands full of gift wrapped boxes.

My eyes lingered on her as she walk across the venue, greeting and smiling to the guests passing by. She was wearing a deep emerald wine color saree, the color bringing out the intensity of her eyes. She looked divine, as always .

The rituals were going on, my glance zeroed to the stage a far. I felt my breath hitched, the suffocation in venue reach the climax. I needed to get out of here, to find some space, some fresh air.

The wall of the venue felt like it were closing on me. The sound of celebration fade into the background replaced by a gentle rustle of leaves. I took a deep breath letting the air fill my lungs, trying to calm the strome that raged with in me.
