An// Thank you all for enjoying reading this story just as much as I am writing it! Also, question - would you guys prefer shorter chapters and have more updates in the week or the long ones once or twice a week? Usually the chapters are around an average of 2500-4000 words but I could cut that down to around 1500 and there could be more updates?
Phil hadn't stopped screaming after hearing the news for three minutes. He'd soon fallen down to his knees afterwards, panting heavily and pressing himself into the corner of the wall; rocking back and fore.
Meanwhile, Dan was frozen in anger. Like fuck was he going to let that bastard who dared call himself Phil's father go any where near him after all the sick and twisted things he'd done to him!
He glared down at Scott and Mitch, why wasn't they on the phone to the prison, cancelling the visit? He waited for what seemed like an eternity, two pairs of eyes monitoring Dan for an anger blow out and Phil for a melt down; whilst another pair of chocolate brown eyes that were so dark in their anger that they may as well have been black stared them down.
He growled down at them, not caring that it wasn't mature to do so. They'd hurt Phil by doing this and he couldn't stand for letting people hurt his favourite person. He grabbed Phil's frail wrist gently, pulling the younger boy into their now glass free room.
He sat down onto the bed with a thud and curled into the position of big spoon and brought Phil into the position besides him, molding him to his body for comfort; letting Phil be the little spoon.
He could feel Phil's constant shivers as the younger boy's body went into shock. Hadn't Phil gone through enough that day, Dan fumed. A meeting, a breakdown, a panic attack, having to deal with having people touching him and being left in a room by himself with people he didn't know for the x-Ray; surely that was too much in itself? But now for him to find out he would have to see his abuser after almost a year of being away from him because he couldn't give evidence himself; it was worse than a kick in the head to him because they made it seem as if it was Phil's fault.
Phil stared blankly at the wall, ignoring the comfort that was next to him. Dan picked up Phil's Totoro fleecy blanket and draped it around them both, tucking it up to Phil's chin loosely before taking the boy's shaking hand in his.
"Philly, I'm here, can you hear me? I'm right next to you? See." Dan whispered, keeping his voice low and soft.
Phil's eyes flickered at hearing his voice, noting that Dan had tucked him into bed and was holding him. He wriggled into Dan so the boy was holding him as tightly as he could. Phil didn't want to be alone right then, he wanted as much touch and as much comfort as he could extract from his friend come protector.
Dan knowingly understood what the boy needed and entwined Phil's legs with his own, using his lower body strength to pull Phil as close as they could possibly be so their stomachs were touching one another's.
"You've had a rough day, Philly. Why don't you try to sleep?" Dan crooned into the crevice of Phil's neck, making them as close as they could physically be.
Phil shook his head instantly, no way in hell was he going to go to sleep. His mind was reeling with panic and uncertainty, he didn't want to end up having another nightmare. He stared at Dan, only his eyes and hair visable from under the fluffy Totoro blanket making Dan have to hold back his "Awhhh's."
Dan was about to leave Phil to settle before a bony hand grabbed him around the wrist and pulled him back to the bed with surprising strength. "I was only going to leave you so you could put your pajamas on, Philly. Then we can watch an Anime if you want?" Dan consoled the ironically pouting boy in front of him.
