Enjoy this chapter it's kinda my top 10 favs rnIn the doorway, Zoe was finishing up tying her shoes while I was still struggling with my heels. Even in my four-inch heels, I was still shorter than Zoe, who was sporting a pair of casual sneakers.
"Damn it, why do these things have to be so complicated?" I cursed under my breath as I fiddled with the straps on my heels. Just when I was about to give up, Zoe chuckled and bent down to help
"Here, let me," she said, kneeling in front of me. Her fingers nimbly looped the strap around my ankle and fastened the buckle. Her touch was gentle but firm, a stark contrast to the fiery passion we shared just moments ago. She looked up at me, grinning.
"There you go," she said, giving my ankle a little pat. "All set."
I smiled down at her, feeling a surge of affection for this girl who could go from making me weak in the knees with a kiss to being so endearingly sweet in a matter of minutes.
"Thank you," She remained crouched in front of me, her eyes fixed on mine.
I sighed, remembering past relationships.
"You know, most guys I dated weren't too fond of my love for heels. They always complained that I was already taller than them without them, and that it made them feel, I don't know, emasculated."
Zoe rolled her eyes in disdain. "Seriously? That's stupid. If anything, those guys should be counting their lucky stars. You look hot in heels."
I chuckled at her comment, feeling my confidence boosted. "You think so?" I asked, tossing my hair back in the most diva-like way possible, making Zoe laugh.
"Oh, definitely," she replied, her eyes raking over my figure in appreciation. "You're like a walking advertisement for the power of good shoes. If anything, those guys were idiots for not seeing that and I need you to give me all their names so I can go beat them up for saying that "
I laughed, touched by her protective nature. "Oh, don't worry, I don't think that will be necessary. I'm perfectly happy with the girl I'm with now."
..............
Zoe and I strolled hand in hand down the cobblestone streets, taking in the vibrant sights and sounds of the city. Peddlers hawked their wares on every corner, and the scent of fresh pastries wafted through the air from local cafes. We stopped to admire the beautiful architecture, and I took out my phone to snap a few photos which Zoe kept trying to make me laugh.
"You keep making faces when I try to take a picture," I complained, swatting playfully at Zoe's hand. "How am I supposed to capture this beautiful view if you're being a goof?"
"But the funny faces are part of the experience!" She protested, putting on a ridiculous pout.
"Who wants a boring picture when you can have a funny one?""Oh, shut up," I said, unable to hold back a laugh. "I'm trying to be all artistic here, and you're ruining it."
"Artistic, schmartist," she said, waving a dismissive hand. "I'm just trying to bring some fun to the party. Can't have you too focused on getting the perfect shot."
"But the perfect shot is what makes it a good picture," I said, turning the camera to focus on a beautiful church in the distance. "See, look at the lighting, the framing, the-" I was about to take the picture when Zoe suddenly jumped in front of the camera, making a silly face. I groaned in frustration.
"Zoe!" I scolded, trying to push her out of the way. "I was just about to take the perfect shot and you ruined it."
"Hey, I wanted in on the picture too!" she protested, laughing. "And besides, it's way more interesting now!"
"Interesting maybe, but ruined!" I exclaimed, unable to stay mad at her. I lowered the camera, shaking my head in mock indignation. "I'm trying to capture London's beauty here and you're being a menace!"
"Me? The menace?
I'm just trying to add a little flavor to your pictures. They're so dull without me."....................
As we walked through the bustling market, the sight of a small flower stand caught Zoe's eye. She tugged at my arm, pointing towards a beautiful arrangement of lilacs. "Hey, wait here," she said, giving me a quick kiss on the cheek before darting off towards the stand.I stood by, watching her chat with the flower vendor. She pointed to the lilacs, gesturing excitedly. A few moments later, she returned with a small bouquet of lilacs held tightly in her grip. She handed them to me. "For you, My Lady"
I took the bouquet, my heart swelling with affection. The lilacs were just my favorite and Zoe had somehow remembered that. "Thank you," I said, burying my nose in the soft petals.
"I knew you'd like them. Plus, you look cute as hell with flowers in your hands."
I playfully swatted her shoulder, but couldn't help but smile at her antics. "You're too smooth sometimes, you know that?" I teased. "But seriously, thank you. They're gorgeous.
"Not as gorgeous as you," she said, taking my hand in hers, intertwining her fingers with mine. "But you're welcome. Anything for you."
The simplicity of the gesture and yet the amount of sincerity in her words had me melting. "You know, sometimes you're too sweet for your own good," I said, giving her hand a gentle squeeze.
"Hey, a girl's gotta have some charm, right?" she replied, flashing a grin. "And if being sweet gets me a smile like that from you, I don't see any downsides."
Hope yall like this chapter next one will be in two days bye
