Zoe stood in front of her massive walk-in closet, mulling over her wardrobe choices for the party.

Her gaze flicked between different pieces, fingers tracing over the material of hangers.

Normally, picking an outfit would be a no-brainer but tonight she was in a strange headspace.

She wasn't even sure she wanted to go out.

With a sigh, she picked up a dark leather jacket and a plain white shirt, pulling them off the hangers. A pair of jeans and a leather belt were next.

Not forgetting the accessories, Zoe added a silver chain. She clipped a belt hook with a silver buckle to the front of her jeans.

As she surveyed herself in the full-length mirror, her gaze paused on her reflection.

Zoe navigated the city streets in her sleek convertible. Music blasted loudly from the speaker but she wasn't really listening.

Her thoughts were elsewhere, a certain blonde pop-star being the centre of them. She drummed her fingers on the steering wheel.

As she approached the venue where the party was being held, the thumping bass of music grew louder with each passing moment.

The familiar faces of fellow celebrities and socialites loomed in the night. Spotlights cut through the darkness, the venue alive with movement.

It was a scene she was all too used to, but tonight she felt strangely out of sorts.

The party was in full swing.

Guests sipped expensive wine and mingled, laughter and chatting.

Zoe, despite her usual outgoing nature, found herself on the outskirts, leaning against a wall and nursing a drink.

As the evening wore on, Zoe grew more and more bored. Despite the alcohol she'd consumed, she found little joy in the festivities.

A part of her was contemplating sneaking out unnoticed, when a familiar figure caught her eye.

Her heart stuttered in her chest for a moment. It couldn't be...

Across the room was Taylor.

She was talking to a small group of people, her laugh carrying over the hum of conversation.

She looked radiant, her blonde hair spilling over her shoulders in a red mini dress.

Zoe froze , she hadn't expected to see Taylor here.

Trying to play it cool, she slowly pushed off the wall, taking a sip of her drink as she watched the singer from a distance. Her heart was now thudding loudly in her chest.

Taylor turned, as if feeling someone's gaze on her. Her eyes scanned the room until they landed on Zoe.

A small smile played on her lips as she excused herself from her group and started making her way towards Zoe.

As the singer reached her, Zoe offered a casual smile, trying to hide the sudden nervous energy coursing through her.

"Well, well, look who it is." Taylor said, the smile on her lips growing as she looked at Zoe. Her gaze travelled over Zoe, taking in her outfit. A hint of appraising curiosity flickered in her eyes

Zoe leaned against the wall, trying to look as confident as possible. She shrugged, lifting her plastic cup to her lips, taking a small sip.

"I could say the same to you. Didn't expect to see you here."
