Boun spent quite some time thinking about his conversation with Prem. It made him more eager to get to know the mysterious person that the brunette was.
Earth had noticed that his friend was a bit distracted but chose to continue enjoying his ice cream rather than making the other talk. Yacht didn't understand the silence at the table. Earth didn't speak much, but Boun talked a lot.
"What's going on? Why are you so quiet?" Yacht broke the silence, startling Boun with the sudden question, and he looked at his friend.
"Nothing, just thinking," Boun took another bite of the strawberry ice cream he was eating.
"About what? Is it something serious? Because when you get quiet, it's a matter of extreme concern," Earth chuckled at Yacht's comment.
"Don't worry. Earth, could you lend me one of your books?"
"One of Prem's?"
"Yes," Earth smiled at his friend, and Boun felt his cheeks get slightly warm.
"Why all of a sudden do you want to read those horror books?" Yacht looked at Boun suspiciously. "You and I have never liked those books. Why do you want to read them?"
"Not horror books," Earth said. "I can lend you one. Which one do you want?"
"Anathema."
"Alright, I'll give it to you when we leave," Earth resumed enjoying his ice cream.
They returned to silence, and Yacht was completely lost in it. Boun wanted to read that book, he was genuinely willing to get to know that man. Prem had a dark aura, and it sparked the curiosity of the blonde. It was like starting to read a book without having seen the synopsis before.
Boun was startled, turning around in his chair when he felt a pair of hands on his shoulders. It was Kao's heavy hands. The man wasn't dressed in fancy suits like the times Boun had encountered him before. This time, he wore slightly loose jeans, a purple T-shirt, and a black overcoat. He smiled at Boun when he noticed he had startled him.
"Kao, hi," Boun said.
"Hi, sorry for the scare. I saw you here, so I came to ask if everything's okay with Prem. He hasn't responded to my messages as usual," he rolled his eyes in the last sentence.
"Yes, everything is fine. I always go to his apartment to check if everything is okay and stay there for a while," Kao smiled at the blonde.
"That's good. It's nice that you go there. Prem spends a lot of time alone, and that's not very good," Kao commented.
"Hmm... Do you want to join us?" Yacht asked, drawing attention to himself.
"If it's not a bother, I'd like to," Kao walked over to the fourth chair available and sat down.
"Oh, these are Yacht and Earth, my friends," Kao looked at the boy next to him, who didn't look up when introduced, his focus on the ice cream.
"Hi, my name is Kao," he spoke to both, but only Yacht responded. He observed the other boy, finding him cute but seemingly shy.
"Don't think Earth is ignoring you; he probably didn't hear or prefers to continue paying attention to his ice cream," Boun explained, a playful smile on his face as he saw the other's expression. "Earth has autism, that's why I mentioned he's not ignoring you."
"Ah, I see," Kao understood the reason.
"Hi, Kao," Earth turned his face toward Kao, and his large eyes were on him. The eye contact was brief, but it happened, something Boun noticed and admired but didn't comment on.
