Marcus' P.O.V.

It's been two months since Daisy and I moved to Manchester. We've gone like four times to Liverpool since then, especially because of my mum and her trial. Mum won. Or Daisy's dad won the case, whatever. But, my mum's name isn't tarnished anymore. Actually, one of the nurses set my mum up because she heard when they said that my mum could be promoted to a higher position. So, she took that damn necklace and put it in my mum's bag. Even CCTV confirmed so. The hospital apologised to my mum, offered her promotion, but you don't fuck with my mum. She declined all of that and actually found a job in a new hospital. She's treated better here and her salary is higher there.

I can't lie, I shed a tear after all that. My mum has suffered majority of her life. It's finally her time to shine and to be happy. Alisha and that nitwit are obviously together again. That day when Daisy and I were in Liverpool, Mum made lunch to celebrate her new job. I didn't want to ruin my ma's day, so I actually sat at the same table with him. I see that Jay has got used to him as well. It's not like I approve of it, but it is what it is. Maybe he has actually changed, I don't know. Then, it was Alisha's birthday and we went to celebrate it with Alisha. Quan was there again. I didn't stir any problems because Daisy was like – Promise me you'll be good. So, I was good. But, I can't lie. He didn't push my buttons like before. In fact, he's trying to be nice and all of that, but I'm not Alisha. It will take him some time to make me trust him again.

I didn't like how Daisy's mum reacted to our engagement, especially after Daisy told me that she and her husband married after like three months. I really don't know what I can do to make that woman trust me. At least, we're cordial with each other and that's all that matters. Anything for Daisy's peace and happiness. Since Daisy's dad went back to being a lawyer, Daisy got that bookstore. It's kinda funny because there are days when she sells like 5 notebooks and a pen, but that makes her happy and I can't say anything. Jermaine and I work at the same company and it's going well. We're both hardworking, we know what we're doing and the salary is pretty good. I don't like how much Daisy works. She has that bookshop, she works online during the weekends and she also works at some pet shop. Additionally, she applied for another job where she's supposed to be an editor and a copy writer. I don't know why she's doing that to herself, I'd rather she worked less because I see how tired she is, but she keeps telling me that she's fine. I'm a bit worried about her, but Daisy is stubborn and I still don't want to push her buttons. Once she ends hooked up on an IV, I'll tell her – I told you so and that's the sentence she hates the most, but I'm sure that it will knock some sense into her head. Also, I hope that copy writer job will replace that job at the pet shop, because I really want her to enjoy her career. I want to see her grow.

"I'm so done", she comments as she closes the door.

"Hey shawty.", I greet her as I send some email and she goes to the bathroom.

As she washes her hands, I come behind her and slap her ass. She shakes her head, chuckling and I wrap my arms around her waist, placing my chin on her shoulder.

"Are you hungry?", I ask, kissing her neck and she shakes her head.

"I'm just tired."

"But you have to eat."

"I will. Later. I promise."

"You seem really exhausted."

"There are mad people. This woman came and since we have like 10 different types of litter for cats, she asked me to offer the best one. I chose it for her, you know, the one I get for Dorian. She was on the verge of buying it, but then changed her mind and asked me to read out loud the origin, the country and what not. Then this one came to ask for some pills for puppies and I asked for the receipt and fella literally said he didn't need one. Of course I didn't sell it to him. "
